I've had ours set at 22 C, but with regard to Global Warming turned it down to 20 C. Not as cosy but comfortable enough. Might try 19 C and wear a pullover.

Currently 22C but I always have the kitchen door slightly ajar to let Muttley run in and out of the garden which lets in a draft.
Report moisok October 25, 2019 9:06 PM BST
seriously though  I had a mate who lived on a narrow boat and ate everything that moved (more or less)
Quite a huntsman until we found he use to lure geese with sweet corn etc - got them out of the local lakes and they were an easy kill!!!

He used to make out he shot them in flight!!!!!!!!!!

What temperature setting will Meghan No-Markle be adopting for her long winter of low energy usage in her palatial home?

I expect she will be keeping it switched off at virtually all times, to be an environmentally-aware low energy user, and to help pay off the £2.5 million in renovations to that main home stumped up by the taxpayer.

The energy efficiency rating of your property plays a significant role in energy consumption, as does the placement of your thermostats and whether individual radiators are fitted with thermostatic valves.

I leave mine at 25, if it gets too hot I turn on the air con. So, Greta, shove that where the sun don't shine.

The only good thing about living in this new build is that the house is warm can't think of another plus point. Setting nil heating not been on since about March

I usually set ours to 22 C, but with regard to global warming I've now got it set to 22 c.

You must be joking.

Over two-thirds of British homes lack controls that would meet the current minimum legal standards, if they were newly installed. This means that they are missing out on a quite low-cost way of ensuring that they get the best from their central heating system, and also keeping running costs as low as possible.

Good central heating controls require a minimum of four things:
Electronic timer or programmer.
Room thermostat.
Thermostatic radiator control valves (TRVs).
Separate thermostatic control on the hot water system.

Room thermostat
This is best located in a living room, rather than the hallway, as the hall temperature can be affected by the front door being used. The thermostat records the home's temperature and if it's either at or above the set level (and 20°C/68°F is usually adequate) it stops the boiler from operating the central heating.

I did get a new boiler last year with a programmable timer/thermostat.  It has def reduced my power bill.
