Why does this word now have totally the opposite meaning........

A lot of terms used in politics don't stand scrutiny. Left, right, progressive, Labour, Conservative, liberal, democrat etc. etc. All used shamelessly by political parties to try to disguise their real agenda. Progressive is the worst as it means nothing.

The newer version is more like ‘freedom from..’
eg person x shouldn’t have to put up with person y doing something that person x doesn’t like |
