Interestingly, air travel contributes slightly less to global greenhouse gas emissions than shipping does.  The UK contributes a whopping 1.20%, placing us 15th in the list below the likes of Canada, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Indonesia and Germany with China on top at 27.5%.  Thank god we have a vegetable admonishing us for our sins.
