Very possible the talks today may have worked, not beyond the bounds of possibilty a deal is going to happen.
Report Dr Crippen October 10, 2019 6:06 PM BST
The talks depend entirely on how seriously the EU take the threat of a no deal exit.

As long as they think the fifth columnists can prevent us from leaving then they'll go nowhere.

I seriously doubt that Dr C, the adage of cutting your nose to spite your face comes into effect, you surely aren't that stupid.

It’s a game , a merry go round , to draw the masses in ,only zombies fall for it ..plenty about Crazy
Report pa lapsy October 10, 2019 6:58 PM BST
Yes indeed, but a direct correlation on peoples lives, quite important really... unless you are a zombie.
Report akabula October 10, 2019 8:08 PM BST
Hopefully they have got close to an agreement but difficult too see where the compromise could be.

How important pa ?money?

nothing wrong with Eire  - nice people

shame about the politicos
Report pa lapsy October 10, 2019 9:00 PM BST
Probably Conditor, in the sense of jobs, living standards etc,a no deal brexit would imo have almost certainly delivered that, i'm ok but while i am no big philanthropist i won't wish the consequences of what could possibly happen on anyone.
And that isn't "project fear" either.

We cannot let N.Ireland go we have made a commitment to them

They will only unite with the ROI when a majority of N.Ireland votes for it

Any way if the EU demands a border in Ireland then that is the way it must be....if we want to leave the EU with  DEAL

else we leave with no deal or stay in the EU....which looks favourite to me at the moment

I think Bozza may have offered everyone in Ireland a free ticket to next year's Cheltenham festival in order to get Leo's backing for his proposals.

Just nuke Brussels.

its very strange,Mary and Arlene are very quiet ,nobody saying nothing, very very unusual,i guess its a secret .Grin

Sources close to the PM have told me that he has accepted the teashops proposal.
A teashop will be built at every border crossing as this is acceptable infrastructure providing refreshment to travellers.
Customs officers dressed as waitresses will surreptitiously observe customers to make sure that none are smuggling New Zealand butter into the EUSSR. This has been hailed as a breakthrough and the only points left to resolve are how much to charge for the tea and Danish pastries.
Report akabula October 12, 2019 12:38 AM BST
So simple Foinavon and you have to wonder why no one thought of it before now.

I seriously doubt that Dr C, the adage of cutting your nose to spite your face comes into effect, you surely aren't that stupid.

Well you obviously are that stupid pa lapsy, if you can't grasp the situation from the point of view of the EU.

The EU have no intention of cutting off its nose to spite its face.
By offering a lousy deal and stonewalling, they've almost brought the UK to the brink of a second referendum.

And what would stop them offering a decent deal as soon as we'd left anyway, when the chance of keeping us in has gone?

Surely even you can see that?

Leaving with no-deal would not signal the end of talks or negotiations.
Report Dr Crippen October 12, 2019 11:18 AM BST
The EU are taking us all the way to the wire, with the sole intention of reversing Brexit.

Which is the last think the remainers want the public to think.
Report pa lapsy October 12, 2019 2:05 PM BST
You had in Boris up to a couple of weeks ago refusing to negotiate,it is Boris who has brought the UK to the brink, not the EU.

You agreed and shook hands on your so called "lousy deal",they stonewalled because of above, and even offered an extension to you in order to ratify your agreement, instead that time was taken to do absolutely nothing.
Report Dr Crippen October 12, 2019 2:53 PM BST
Three cheers for Boris.
At least he knows what's required to get them to sit down and talk.
Report pa lapsy October 12, 2019 6:02 PM BST
Yeah, indeed, bring back Mays deal 2,cheer him on Crippen.
Report Dr Crippen October 12, 2019 6:06 PM BST
Make your mind up lapsy.

One minute we're going over the brink the next minute we're cheering home May's deal 2.

So which one is it?
Report Dr Crippen October 12, 2019 6:08 PM BST
I always get this with lefties.

What is it with them that they can't seem to grasp the simplest idea.
Report pa lapsy October 12, 2019 6:14 PM BST
Tis very hard to grasp, maybe if they had slogans like "taking back control" and "brexit means brexit" etc etc, it would all be done for us.
Report Foinavon October 12, 2019 6:17 PM BST
If the swamp could be drained Aka, the whole thing could be sorted in an afternoon. Unfortunately we have in recent weeks seen the extent of the web, even had a glimpse of the deadly spider.
