the 3 fastest times of all time have all been run in the last 2 months by 2 different athletes, World Record broke twice by Delilah Muhammed first in July on a very wet track in Iowa (and with the slowest reaction time) and then again tonight (with the slowest reaction time), the record had previously stood for 16 years since 2003. Before she broke the record in July her PB was 52.64, she ran 52.2 for a WR shaving .44 seconds of her best ever time at the age of 29 and beating the previous world record by .14, then tonight another .4 of her PB and WR with a new record of 52.16. In the 400m flats her PB before this year was 52.63, then in Poland back in June she bettered that by just over 2 whole seconds with a time of 50.60. She ran faster tonight in the 400m hurdles than a couple of girls ran the 400m flats in the semi final!

McLaughlin who's 20 broke her 2 year old PB by .52 second as well to put herself 3rd on the all time list, though I believe she's been breaking records at junior level the last few years.

That is a remarkable improvement in times at a fairly late age for Dalilah Muhammad, I know she's reigning Olympic Champion but she ran that final nearly a whole second slower and that was of much higher importance, in better conditions then her first WR in Iowa.

Am I right to be suspicious Devil

All the 1 lap times and plenty of 200m times have been incredibly quick so I'd say no.  The track for one lap running seems to be super fast.  I am suspicious, but I'd direct my suspicion at the air con system.  Eilish McColgan said she enjoyed running at the front because of the cooling breeze

In fact I'd be long odds on the air con system is positively affecting times.  Question is whether it's innocent or deliberate
Report CLYDEBANK29 October 5, 2019 12:55 AM BST
We need to get Professor Heinz Wolff on the case.  If the air con pumps in cool air in a clockwise direction, does that lead to a following wind for the athletes all the way round the track?  I suspect it does.

The womens 400m flat was really a WR (and a huge PB for the first 2 and the top 5), as the only two times that were better were in the 1980s by a confirmed drug cheat, and a Czech woman who resembled Arnold Scwharzenegger.  The women's 400m hurdles is a post 1990 event, hence it has beatable WRs.

Am I right to be suspicious

Yes.  With professional sport I am suspicious of the lot of them.
Report CLYDEBANK29 October 5, 2019 1:18 AM BST
Am I right to be more suspicious of Dalilah Mohammad than other athletes?  No imho.

You can be suspicious about anybody on anything and some of the time you will be proved right, but the majority of the time you won't.  If you are suspicious of everyone, you'll be one miserable soul imho.

If you aren't suspicious of everyone at elite level Athletics you are pretending to yourself considering that even now Victor Conte believes from his knowledge alone 50-60% of elite athletes are definitely at it,factor in the TUE system which was created to be abused as a more acceptable way of being able to compete under the guise of medical usage in most cases we'd be right to suspect almost everyone able to even compete at that level.
We all know the rules on testing are easily got around
We all know you can micro dose and not test positive for drugs like EPO
We all know that they don't automatically use carbon isotope ratio testing as it's too expensive (too effective really)
We all know the rules on TUEs are easily manipulated and all sporting federations, coaches and doctors are complicit in these abuses
We all know that federations control which positive tests will be allowed to stand and have been sweeping positives under the carpet for years
We all know the biggest NOW PROVEN cheaters of all time were doing things that were highly suspicious but were only outed publicly due to whistleblowers
We all know everyone on the asthma medications of the last 20 odd years are on gear more potent and effective than concoctions of many PEDs yet these are the most common and accepted TUEs

I could go on with many specific cases, incidents, history and plenty proveable suspicions the post is getting too long but knowing even a few of these things any improvements like the ones darren mentions are highly suspicious,as we know to even be there competing with a chance of winning anything at all can't be done on whey protein, eggs, creatine, aminos and Lucozade.

Take it for what it is imo. we can still be suspicious and not be miserable, for me the suspicion, reasoning and intrigue has added more to sport especially athletics as there's plenty to discuss plenty to research and plenty more drama and excitement to come.

Does anyone know if the women's 400m record of Marita Koch still stands at 47.60 seconds?

or Flo Jo's 10.49 100m?

I mean are they still officially the records?

Denzil boxing is far worse for drugs than athletics and doing almost nothing about it.  You are far more likely to get caught in athletics than any other sport.  It's been a world leading sport in banning Russia and it revisits previous drugs test with adavances in science, again I believe this is athletics led.  Boxing is where athletics was in the 80s.  Most sports do feck all and hide any problem to protect their image, and this includes footballl.

Agreed CLYDEBANK although they aren't too keen to unfreeze Bolts samples and CIR test them, can't find the article where Conte told an official to do this if they want to find out and the reply was along the lines of 'are you trying to destroy athletics altogether'.
MMA heavily encouraged gear use in the early days now I think they don't want to make it too obvious though Chris Cyborg still fighting is difficult to hide even though she got beat against Amanda Nunes.

Not the first forumite to be suspicious of Muhammad

I assume most sports people are on something or other.
