Its the French way to fight on for their rights otherwise they know they will end up like us in the UK.

I admire the french. Take no sh!t and will kick off if they're not happy. We're too nice here. We gather for marches in warm weather and swell with pride at the numbers thinking we've made a jot of difference while Farage, Johnson, Cummings et al laugh their nuts off and figure out their next grift.

We should be organising general strikes and bricking the windows of Tufton Street.

I lived in Paris in the nineties and remember talking to a few guys manning a picket line at a factory in Montrouge.
It was all very civilised and their demands were more than reasonable.

What struck me most was the solidarity of the workforce and the support they appeared to have from passers by, all social classes appeared to be supportive.

I also recall being in central Paris one Saturday evening when the aftermath of an earlier demo started to get ugly.

The police were far too aggressive, the demo was naturally breaking up, but their insistence of clearing the area faster simply fuelled a reaction which you felt was exactly what they wanted. They hadn’t been able to wield their batons all day and simply had to crack a few heads whilst on overtime.

We're almost into October and the precious will be curling up in front of the fire watching netflix

No more "fighting the state" until next April/May now

Were they not protesting last November and December ?

They were was weeks of it ,hardly any coverage ..
