when we sit down to eat most eat what is on the plate they are given, but sometimes there may be too much on the plate, other times too little, and other times its perfect with rome for desert, but at sometime you realize you are full, does the stomach sent a message to the mouth,"no more room down here,"does the brain say "ok mate thats enough,do the eyes count everything and then send a message to the hands to stop filling,or perhaps you belch and take it as a warning sign,or perhaps the belch is telling you,"still room for ice cream and apple pie,so the next time you eat look out for the warning signs, that you are full. Funny how we always know when we had too much to drink, but that warning is usually comes too late.
thats the proper way to eat,and they say it is good for health to leave something edible on the plate after each meal.and bad manners to leave an empty plate.contrary to popular belief.

I agree brassneck, I used to bet in relatively high stakes, compared to others on here maybe it was not that high but easily 10 grand a day. Today it was only 3 grand and I ended up up in front by £800 quid which although not a great deal I call it a days wages and I'm OK with that.

Your stomach sends a signal to the brain that it's full. By the time that signal reaches your brain, you have already eaten a bit more and done overeating. Hence the saying, leave something on the plate, meaning eat a bit less than what you think will satisfy your hunger.
In reality most people don't manage to do that because anything that doesn't taste the best or doesn't make you feel full is not considered food by those fond of eating.
