....the carnage after a serious RTC?
Is it the fire fighters?
This must be as bad as seeing people blown to pieces in a war zone!
Yesterday, there was a most horrific incident, on the M62 in West Yorkshire...
I can't fathom how it occured, as it says that the tanker driver, and the victims, were going in the same direction!
Either way, the Audi A5 went straight through the underside, and emerged at the other side, with everything from the windscreen base, and upwards, destroyed!
A male and a female, aged 43 wiped out and, aside from maybe three seconds of realisation, knew nothing more!
Can you even begin to imagine the trauma, that the rescuers were faced with?

Can't answer your question, but I think the crash you're talking about happened in July 2012!

Nope, it was Friday on the M62 west Yorkshire!
That should not Happen as Lorries should have Stop Gate that if they are rear ended, the vehicle cannot go under you will also notice many have Side stops as well 
Are you sure the Lorry didn't go over the car ? Not that it makes much difference to the Dead people

Yes as suspected the Truck fell on to the car , I believe STOP BARS are a legal requirement on lorries making it virtually impossible to end up under them .There was a spate of Rear end crashes some years back that brought them in .
I believe it would be Down to Fire or Ambulance staff to clear up ,not sure , but who ever it is as OP says a dreadful carry on

Matrix warnings stated the motorway was closed, between 29 & 28, which indeed it was!
What followed was chaos, with everyone taking the same route, and with the outcome to be a half hour journey,
taking an hour and forty minutes!
I'm trying to find the photo, that I saw previously, as it didn't look to have been toppled on!

Very strange, as I'll swear that isn't the photo I saw, as the car was not as far forward, and none of the roof or door visible,
but too much of a coincidence!!

So it is Trilby , Must be a poor record for Audis and Lorries on that stretch of Road
This Thursday's crash on the M62 occurred between J22 ( Rishworth moor ) and J23 ( Huddersfield ), on the eastbound carriageway. Motorway was closed for several hours. If you google Huddersfield Examiner there are photos.
The M62 between J28 and J29 was closed Friday night ( and probably all weekend ) for repair work to a bridge.

All a massive coincidence, but they did say late Friday that all three lanes were open!
Must have meant Eastbound following another fatal on that side.
I am actually still seething with myself, for not just taking an alternative route at the start and, then again for crawling on the A650,
when I should have gone through Morley, Gildersome and up to Tong where the venue was (sorry that won't mean much to 95% on here)!
All I can say is, thank God for automatic gearboxes, and stop/start function!
I wonder how much fuel was wasted (particularly with the HGVs) and how many clutches were worn out!

If you used a good sat nav with automatic re-routing and traffic info then you would have avoided this incident.....I have Tomtom 6000 (about 3 year old now though)
Yes Leopard, you are of course correct, but whilst I had one when I was working, I gave it to my dozy daughter,
who somehow dropped her's in water, and I never replaced it as rarely go into unfamiliar places.
If I do, I just familiarise with Google maps, and directions so, as you say Leopard, I was lacking that one important piece of knowledge!

and didn't appear to be historic!
The photo I saw, was certainly not one of the two showing on the 2012 crash!
The car wasn't as far out, and the door wasn't showing, and the roof wasn't showing at all!

Christ, this is bloody frustrating, but what I have found is a shaky video, which shows the car, albeit wit other vehicles passing.
but it is exactly where the close up still photo that I saw, without other vehicles, and no damage to the bonnet, and no folded back roof showing!
I have grabbed a still from it but, if you have been paying attention, you may have seen in another thread, that I can't put up photos
for approval, as the saved file references are not recognised!!!

Usually it is the Highways Agency Traffic Officers who clear the debris to facilitate the speedy re-opening of the carriageway. Should there be a fatality, or the likelihood of a fatality(life threatening injuries) the road then becomes a crime scene and is then closed until the Police investigate. The wrecked vehicles are cleared by contracted breakdown vehicles.
I knew a guy years ago that worked for the fire service who attended a fatal collision where the driver was decapitated.
It affected him greatly and had a mini break down.
Left the service but took his own life a fee years later aged about mid thirties.
