This is the Shadow Foreign Secretary we're discussing here.

She's as bad as Abbott for facts and figures.

So we have the Shadow Foreign Secretary and the Shadow Home Secretary, neither of whom could run a fish and chip, set for two of the highest offices of State should Labour be elected.

Which is an indication of the incompetence within the Labour leadership.

As for my fish and chip shop jibe - I doubt if either of them could even hold down a job serving in a fish and chip shop let alone running one.
Report Ramruma September 6, 2019 11:47 AM BST
While the Shadow Foreign Secretary and Shadow Home Secretary might not be at home in a fish and chip shop, the actual government has appointed:

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab who did not know Dover was on the way to France.

Home Secretary Priti Patel who was sacked from the last government for clandestine meetings with foreign powers and who has only just realised (has anyone told chit chat?) that no-deal Brexit will not end EU immigration.

I see your chip shop and raise you a whelk stall.
Report doridoru September 6, 2019 11:52 AM BST
Thornberry was also on QT about 8 weeks ago who suggested a referendum on deal or no deal to solve the issue, not about remaining. Changed her tune pretty fast.

and before that Jeremy Hunt, who doesn't quite seem to know the difference between the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia. Hunt himself was preceded by Boris Johnson, no further words needed to explain that one.

If Labour win a GE she will negotiate a better deal, then have a referendum and campaign to remain, thus campaigning against her own deal!

She is a politician, they can't lay straight in bed, they are all liars., whatever thier colours, Blue, Red, yellow, Green, etc. Self serving career muppets. The 'honourable man' Corbyn has done an about turn on everything he said for 30+ years sniping from the back benches (quelle surprise) but has a large base of followers who ignore that because he is' LABOUR' ffs.

Report anxious September 7, 2019 10:06 AM BST
Injera this is getting silly now , by the people do you realise that only 37 per cent of the eligible electorate  voted to leave ,  i voted to leave but say this was mass victory is nonsense , in elections governments are voted in by similar amounts , quite frankly deomocracy has never fulfilled the wishes of the people

Report Injera September 7, 2019 10:33 AM BST
anxious - the turnout was exceptionally high. You cannot discredit a result when the turnout is 72%.

Democracy allows for people who don't vote. That's their choice.

240 Labour MPs did not vote against the Tories. They voted to oppose  Brexit and therefore the will of the people.

The Eu will not give us a deal that honours the result of the referendum.

I don't trust any politician and the sooner we stop treating them like rockstars and more like the venal little sh1ts they all are, only then will WE retain any control over them.
