A shame he's not on again for three hours this evening but I'm listening to a replay of his 6pm show now.
Yes I did listen to all three hours. He really did lay into Selby although I know they have history. |

*Welby

Welby is another one who went to Eton. That's the remarkable thing about Brexit. So many of the people involved on both sides went to the same bloody school. Cameron with his referendum; Boris of course; Jacob Rees-Mogg; remainers like Rory the Tory and now the nation's top god-botherer, Justin Welby.
By:
Farage is always going on about how Johnson and Rees-Mogg were vehemently opposed to May's 'deal'/Treaty, yet on the third occasion (surprisingly / shockingly ?) decided to vote for it!
But never seems to mention the Chequers 'lunch' prior to the third vote, nor ask what was exactly said or (perhaps more pertinently) 'offered' to them, that made them change their minds? Bearing in mind, Johnson is now Prime Minister and JRM the Leader of the HOC. |
By:
Perhaps you would elaborate, George?
By:
Trilby, Farage has said from the outset of Johnson's leadership campaign and now he's PM, that he doesn't trust Johnson to deliver Brexit because he voted for May's Treaty the third time, having previously been so against it.
And as far as Farage is concerned, May's Treaty is Brexit in name only. I'm just saying I'm surprised Farage doesn't ever seem to mention the Chequers Sunday lunch prior to the third meaningful vote, where presumably something was said or offered, that got BJ and JRM to change their minds. Farage's current view is that all Johnson is going to do, is reheat May's treaty with some changes to the backstop, and put it back to Parliament. This is why the Queen's Speech has been called for, so Bercow can't reject the deal being brought back to the HOC for a 4th time, as this will be a new session of Parliament. |
By:
There's a fair bit of truth to that but I don't know about your middle paragraph. What does Nige definitively know about what was said? Although Nige has his suspicions, he is backing Boris - for now. Unless I'm much mistaken?
If we get May's Deal (European Directive) with lipstick, Boz and the Tories will be oot on their collective arrises, imo. |
By:
^ and quite rightly so!
By:
Farage is only backing Johnson if he goes for a clean break Brexit, if he brings back May's Treaty with just an amendment to the backstop, Farage will be hoping it doesn't get through Parliament and then a general election is called.
By:
![]() Maybe better leave this for the politics section, George, as there's plenty enough in chitchat already? I only created the fred to let peeps know Nige was on in a special appearance. He'll be back on tomorrow at 10am ![]() |

Incoming. Enjoy the show and I'll catch you later. Busy day ahead ...

By:
Did you listen to Nigel on LBC this evening, Trilby?
By:
Good evening, Evgeny. I did for the most part, yes. You?
By:
Yes I did - he seemed deflated. Did you notice that? Maybe I'm imagining it but it's as though he is resigned to the fact that all we'll get is the May deal minus the backstop.

I knew that - he was talking about it yesterday and that he might not be able to speak at Colchester this evening. Hopefully it was just that but it just seemed to have that knackered look which David Cameron had the day after he announced his resignation!

By:
like i say leave with a deal , enough is enough

By:
then have an election , this is the only solution

By:
I thought he was in Washington yesto? Sure gets around with plenty on and that'll be fatiguing. He's maybe tired of not knowing what's going to happen next - like the rest of us - but we'll know soon enough. Hope you're all stocked up with popcorn for the week!
Yup, I'd be happy with that Anx. May's deal with lipstick and Tories are Finnish. |

By:
Yup, May's Deal (or what she was given when she was handed her arris back) is worse than remaining. Much worse.
