Overrated as hell, and a million miles from Breaking Bad quality, but better than anything else on the trash machine BBC

I don't like the look of the main actor.  He seems very effeminate.  And he's called Cillian.  Too many annoyances.

Be interesting to know how many times the ‘F’ was used. Personally I don’t think they needed to swear once but I suppose they are a Catholic family.

I think it's safe to assume it wasn't actually shot!

It's not completely historically accurate, but allowing for artistic licence, it is based on a real gang called The Peaky Blinders from Birmingham around the turn of the century and beyond. I've enjoyed watching several series back-to-back into the small hours.

I must admit I do feel a it sorry for the random sacrificial creatures such as the burrowing lizard that survives the hostile environment of the desert by the most amazing evolutionary adaptation of being able to "swim" under the sand where it's cooler, only to be unlucky enough to get it's head bitten off 1,000s of miles from humanity cos of a TV documentary. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But I like the concept otherwise.

The Ben Fogle program about people that give up modern Western luxuries to live remote or wild lifestyles is pretty good too.

Cheers VV, I hadn't heard of Fogle's show before.

Some decent sounding episodes in there.

I've tried to like 'Peaky Blinders' and I can understand why it has got quite a cult following and Cillian Murphy plays a brilliant part  but I just can't really get 'into it' as such.

Peaky Blinders seems to glorify gang violence....gave up after series 2...or 3 ?

I'm a born and bred Brummie and can hardly understand the accents, only watched the 1st couple from series 1 and couldn't get into it seemed very dark and depressing, so hadn't bothered until this new series. It's a decent drama now but i think the director and producer are using an awful lot of artistic license and find it rather far fetched!
Mr Shelby runs in the 7.00 Muss tonight, perhaps he's gone up to confront the Billy Boys!

Stewarts rise, I got a few Brummie mates(all Villains for their sins) and they say the accents are not great, bordering on Liverpudlian at times.

If you're not a brummie it's a difficult accent to get right to be fair. Glad your mates have taste slippy!Grin
