Lightening Strike to blame for power cut

A lightning strike isn't an entirely implausible cause.

Interesting reading, most of us cynics think i was a wind power failure.

I'd never accuse you of being a wind power failure.

Think there was a storm so wind power  depending on turbine type becomes unreliable and the farm operators protect assets ,grid knows all this and takes action ,the gas powered side is back up but the whole thing needs power from various other sources to power the changeover gear . Add in some flooding and all the infrastructure work ,hs2 ,crossrail ect I susoect a lot of temp connections and ad hoc circuits were in play ,grid failed but overall I think good will come from it ,traffic lights and basic infasture should not be on same circuit and that all needs addressed . As has already been mentioned the fact the train operators (damned German trains )had not read thar instruction manuals is a seperate issue ( Vort sprung teknik ) ,for 50k+ a year the drivers should get out and push the fookers imo if they can’t start emm . Anyway hopefully when the grid fat cat turns up to spray the select comitee they remind him what electricity is with a cattle prod .
