The parents of three teenagers who deliberately trashed a model railway exhibition worth £30,000 have been ordered to pay compensation.

Three of them were handed 12-month referral orders and their parents were also ordered to pay £500 in compensation.

If I were an exhibitor I'd tell the courts where they can stick their £500.

A case where corporal punishment would be appropriate.

I'd give them the choice of a public birching or paying £30,000 upfront.

C'mon Pretty Patel have a go at sorting out the judiciary and in particular pathetic sentencing. I'd like to bring back capital punishment for a wide range of offensives and also 3 strikes and you're inside for 30 years.

Meanwhile other people not involved have crowd funded £100,000. British 21st century justice. Expect the public to pay for increasing criminality. Perhaps a £30k model railway should have been properly secured though?

We need natural justice.
1. Attach very sharp spike to front of Hornby "Flying Scotsman" locomotive.
2. Tie them down and tape their bollox to a model railway line.
3. Drive Hornby "Flying Scotsman" at maximum speed into bollox.
4. Repeat 3.

I agree lybertyne £500 seems light..

Still they may have taken into account what the parents can afford..

I would have it a little higher

Kids deserved a spell in Borstal

A borstal was a type of youth detention centre in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. In India, it is known as a borstal school.

Borstals were run by HM Prison Service and were intended to reform young people. The word is sometimes used loosely to apply to other kinds of youth institutions or reformatories,[1] such as approved schools and youth detention centres. The court sentence was officially called "borstal training". Borstals were originally for offenders under 21, but in the 1930s the maximum age was increased to 23. The Criminal Justice Act 1982 abolished the borstal system in the UK, introducing youth custody centres instead.

In India, borstal schools are used for the imprisonment of minors. As of 31 December 2014, there were 20 functioning borstal schools in India, with a combined total capacity of 2,108 inmates.[2]

Have you been watching Jackarse 3.5?

For the record I am not against your proposal for natural justice.

I do confess I do get annoyed when kids eat burgers in their cars and throw the rubbish and beer cans on the ground and drive off. I would love to collect their's and a whole host of rubbish one day and dump it in their parents garden or through the letter box! Yet to do it but I am getting to the older and crusty stage of life. I shall keep you all posted and expect you to crowd fund my defence team!

Nice to see that Sir Rod has chucked in £10k, and is encouraging others to follow!

He, and some others, are all railway enthusiasts....

Is that Sir Rod Stewart? Thought he was a bit careful with his money, was the £10k on a piece of elastic?

I am pretty sure Pete Waterman would have covered the cost himself.

He is a train geek. Well done if he has!

Actually I've never seen the nebs clip or jackarse that I can remember.
Maybe I've just a unique take on how our justice system should work :)
Getting people to pay a fraction of the damage they caused as compensation doesn't seem fair, we need HAIRY PLUM justice.

Huge but "meh". If I was to build a model railway layout I'd be interested in fine detail and making it as accurate and nice as possible, that's just ****ing huge and ugly. Sometimes smaller can be better, and I'm not just talking about Kylie's ar5e.

I'm not sure what a "referral order" does but it seems

there has been no real punishment for these people. Surely

there needs to be some "real" penalty. Just a joke otherwise.Sad
