Prince Harry lecturing on carbon footprints, then takes 3 private jet flights in 8 days

Sir Elton John has defended the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's use of private jets - and said he paid to carbon offset their trip to his French home. The singer said he provided Prince Harry, Meghan and their son Archie with his private plane to "maintain a high level of much-needed protection".

In a message posted on social media, Sir Elton said: "I am deeply distressed by today's distorted and malicious account in the press surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's private stay at my home in Nice last week.

"Prince Harry's mother, Diana Princess of Wales was one of my dearest friends. I feel a profound sense of obligation to protect Harry and his family from the unnecessary press intrusion that contributed to Diana's untimely death. "After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquility of our home. "To maintain a high level of much-needed protection, we provided them with a private jet flight."

Sir Elton urged the press to stop the "relentless and untrue assassinations on their character that are spuriously crafted on an almost daily basis".

Comedian Ellen DeGeneres tweeted that the couple were "the most down-to-earth, compassionate people". "Imagine being attacked for everything you do, when all you're trying to do is make the world better," she said.

Labour MP David Lammy tweeted his support for Sir Elton, adding: "The hounding of Harry and Meghan is becoming a witch-hunt replete with nasty racial and xenophobic overtones".

it's all ok, Elton has defended them both so we can now all now rest at ease

Ken Wharfe, a former royal protection officer who worked with Diana, Princess of Wales, told The Times that royals used to fly by Birtish Airways. Wharfe dismissed claims that private jets are necessary for security reasons, asserting that ‘BA security[...] are used to working with VIPs’, calling the Duke's conduct 'hypocritical'.

The irony has not been lost on a number of public commentators. Following the Google conference, which saw such illustrious names as Barack Obama and Leonardo Dicaprio flocking to Sicily for the event, BBC presenter Andrew Neil highlighted that attendees ‘came in 114 private jets and a flotilla of super yachts. The conference is on global warming.’

I'm starting a carbon-offsetting business

Pay me £100 and I'll promise not to go ahead with my planned mission to Mars

What everyone has to remember is that No-Markle has a massive sense of entitlement (for a Z-List celebrity), and her laughable Virtue-Signalling and Pretendy Activism soon disappear when the opportunity of privilege and luxury appear.

Sensible people pointed this out virtually on Day 1 of her entry to royalty, but naturally they were called 'WAAAAAAAAYYYCISTS" for their trouble.

I'm not sure how Elton John paying for the trip offsets any carbon footprint
Sounds like he's a sycophant and they are spongers of the highest order

He was mentioning the carbon tax charges.
Its like you waste food and say so what I paid for it.

...while preaching the importance of not wasting food.

do as harry says not as he does !

Just another liberal fkin idiot

THey cheeky git used to fly around in jet turbine powered helicopters often multiple times a day. He knows no shame.

Bit like these celebs that tell us to house a refugee but don't do it themselves.

Trump is a very generous man who houses migrants in enviromentally friendly naturally air conditioned cages, it didn't help his profile with the Green Lefties.

Clooney, Richard Gere, the list is endless, they do FK ALL but spout at us...

Lammy has gone way beyond parody with his latest ludicrous outburst.

He is surely the ONLY person who could detect "racism" and "xenophobia" in the long-overdue criticism of Harry and No-Markle for their shameless freeloading and utter hypocrisy on environmental matters.

#PrayforLammy'sSanity

Haha loony Lammy is certifiable!

Spot on.

Chucking cash into a ' Saving Carbon Footprint project,'  doesn't cancel out the footprint that's just be trod !!

Time to bring the monarchy to an end after the Queen , it’s becoming ridiculous

It's already ridiculous.
Outdated sycophancy - creating a multitude of parasites, being treated as ' godlike ' figures.
And living a luxurious and pampered life style, totally removed from reality, for the whole of their lifetime.

Its only us that are to be taxed and taxed some more for these luxury things remember that

You pay for them to live the high life, and they get to "educate" and patronise you to boot

Unless people sort them out its never going to stop

Amazes me how anyone with any rational or decency could explain why we still have a `monarchy' to their children.

Look lad, I know I have tried to tell you about working hard, trying to learn and how its goof to treat all people as equals etc etc etc'.

Well actually `our' country puts 1 family up on some sort of God like pedestal and bestows them unimagineable wealth. They then carouse with prolific peodophiles, marry actresses, spout utter BS about how we should live our lives, buy race horses, get protected by the press, security services etc etc'

To be fair they do go to village fetes and pat ill babies on the head sometimes.

Captain

I amazes me how people haven't snapped and gone after these disgusting bas*ards

I mean these people are the definition of "leeches", they not only leech taxes but they absorb everyone's lives and happiness with it

People will bully and harass the "jobless" and the disabled, but wont say a word about high up elites

Spineless springs to mind. Give me 5 minutes with Prince Andrew and I'll have him screaming for immunity and dishing everything

All this red tape and "law" cr*p protects them

Just go in with a sledgehammer and pliers and politely ask them for information

No shouting needed, look them in the eyes and ask, they'll know to tell you don't worry about that

If there was no red tape and law, they would still be in control. Because anyone speaking against them would be sitting in a room expecting a sledgehammer and pliers and being politely asked why he's against the prince.

People with money and influence(most of which comes from money) will always win.

I would argue against that, detrav

Not if you got to them first, if cops and armies didn't defend them (ie no rule of law) it would be much fairer

Yes of course they could get to you first but that's part of the game

Detraveller has nothing to say the guy argues against argument.foolish,Charlie will be along in a minute

From the ridiculous to the idiotic :(
We are very lucky to live in a country like Britain , it’s not easy to create a good and free and democratic and peaceful society , it’s a difficult thing to achieve take a look around the world
So we do pretty well in England , be thankful

Britain would of been even greater if she'd disbanded the royal navy and replaced it with the people's navy in the 18th c.

What happened 2 centuries ago doesn’t concern me , sorry

And if you disagree with that, shut up and think about why the royals aint so bad after all.

It is said that they attract a lot of tourists. I don't know how you would put a figure on that. How much tourism would still be attracted by the iconic buildings and artifacts were they not there is difficult to evaluate too. A lot of people still visit the French palaces of Versailles and the Louvre even though their royal personages have long since departed, some divided neatly in two.

In Britain the monarch has no power , the Queen does what we tell her to do , that’s fine
Now if you want to become angry I suggest you direct it elsewhere
At Parliament , the mps , and at your fellow citizens ,who are trying to overthrough the result of the democratic referendum
So yes , take a little look at that , and put the blame where it lies
I’m not interested in the monarchy

I thought Charles, Andrew and Edward were totally beyond contempt but Harry, the odious twit that he is, is giving those three a run for their money. I absolutely loathe all of them.

*our money

Indeed Capt_F.

God Save the Queen. And feck the republicans.

Lol, such a fuss from the usual suspects

* some of the usual suspects

All the bleedin royal fly everywhere with andy windsor being the worst offender, one rule for them and b0llocks to the rest

Just for you IFC

The Monarchy is close to extinction and William might be the last.
But in saying that the misplaced 'our money' accusation is nonsense.
The Royal estate has income of close to £300m but the Queen only retains about £35m with the rest gifted to the treasury.

That’s true terry , but you don’t have to listen to Harry and Megan now do you
So what’s the problem again?

They the only people that fly Terry?
You never been abroad on holiday?
And what about all those moon trips?

Not for a moment would I listen to those two,but its the two faced do as I say not what I do crap Im not too keen on

Yes , young people tend to be like that , so what
Don’t listen to them , they are dreamers nothing wrong with that when you’re young
We become cynical when we get to your age terry :)

And mine

don,t consider megall young
thrash yes
young no

The point I’m trying to make is they have no power , that can only talk and listen and fly here and there
That doesn’t bother me.  What does bother me is what is happening elsewhere, where there is power that can effect you life
And the ****** in Parliament etc

No doubt there is an argument to be made for  Corbyn and the libdems and the remainers to thrown into prison
That would be lovely to see , who could deny that ?

Take a look at the real criminals in this scenario

Megan and Harry ? that doesn’t bother me.  Sorry

You like the monarchy lfc but hate elected politicians LMFAO.

I ask again how do you explain to very young children about `an unelected, privelidged family bestowed great wealth palaces etc, protected against normal laws, who spout garbage about how ordinary working families should live'   when we live in a democracy/meritocracy?

Bizarrely the monarchy has massive support amongst the poorest working classes lol.

I can only think they have some sort of needy pop star like attraction to the image or are just plain and simply stupid.

Ohh actually looking at the Brexit demographics it must be the latter. They voted to become a lot poorer in that poll so I can see why they support giving some of their very little spare cash to one of the richest families in the world.

You just cant help some people.

I don’t like the monarchy particularly , but I dislike someone like you who doesnt respect the British people when they vote to leave the EU

You see the monarchy doesn’t bother me , that does

We vote in general elections every few years for people to then represent us and legislate in parliament.
That is ehat our decmocracy has been based on for a very long time.

Gimmicky, ridiculous referendums with binary options when about 98% of the population don't understand what they are voting about is just poor and utter stupidity and just represents an ignorant protest vote.

I am a remainer but I would never advocate a referendum on anything.

Vote for politicians whose job/career is based on politics. Many may not be very good but they are 99% better then the average Joe off the street.

We dont ask the public to vote on tax because we then wouldnt pay any, we dont ask them about capital punishment because huge swathes are still savages that dont care about putting innocent people to death in their names etc etc etc So wht are we asking them about the most important economic decision for generations when 98% couldnt tell you what a tariff was?

Carnage, why don't you just post "everyone is stupid and wrong except me" and save yourself some time.

"Many may not be very good but they are 99% better then the average Joe off the street."
Says someone obviously oblivious to the existence of Corbyn's Labour.

Carnage if you voted in the referendum then you are duty bound to accept the result
Until you can do that your opinion on the royals or democracy or anything else under the sun is if no value
Don’t allow yourself to believe anything else , thanks

It’s amazing that someone as reprehensible as capt carnage  ( I should use stronger language but this is chit chat )
should have the gall to lecture anyone about anything
Remainers simply have no shame :(

Just Checking
Carnage, why don't you just post "everyone is stupid and wrong except me" and save yourself some time.

Was going to post something similar. Would be good if when posting he could get his facts right though.
