Not a mention of cheese! A promising thread ruined.

Well I had cheese on the bits I eat earlier ;) Leerdammer. Not my normal choice but it was on offer, and goes well with baguettes.
I've a feeling. And this may just be a feeling. But I've a feeling if I can solve the "Baguette staleness problem" with the "cut into little bits and put in a box hypothesis" .... there may be a nobel in this for me. A well deserved one. It's between me and brassneck to be the first chit chat laureate, and I feel finally, after my work on Peanut Butter, I'm going to make it. |

If you had left it go stale you could have eaten from your other end

Gosh JC if you have sunk to leerdammer you are in desperate straits. Do you require a food parcel.
Or are there any food banks near you? |

I think it worked a bit. I need to try it with a really fresh one.
I'm fed up being forced to carry one when I walk the dog, after that campaign saying I had to baguette and bin it. |

When I do give in to a baguette, I only buy a small one and eat half on the day, then the next day I cut the end, that has always gone solid, off the remaining half. Then I spread loads of butter on it and it’s still ok to eat. I like roast beef in a baguette
![]() I can’t remember the last time I this btw. |

Well it's the air that does it I think if you put it in a container it'll help. I was buying some of these zip lock bags in a supermarket the other day (they are very useful) I should see if they've got some really big ones. They are so good for organising stuff in drawers and so on. I've drawers of crap and I can never find stuff and I'm trying to not be so freakin USELESS at that sort of thing!

I've also tried sprinkling a little water (maybe I should try a spray?) and microwaving for a few seconds, it seems to revive them a bit.
