A man has been jailed for life with a minimum of 25 years after he admitted "ferociously murdering" a woman he had "pestered" for sex.
Karar Ali Karar stabbed 21-year-old Jodi Miller 15 times at a house on Milan Road, Harehills, Leeds, on 25 February to "teach her a lesson".
The 31-year-old accosted Miss Miller and offered to pay her for sex to which she said no, Leeds Crown Court heard.
He then stabbed her with a kitchen knife so hard it broke in three places.
Mitigating, Simon Kealey QC said Karar fled to the UK seeking asylum from Sudan in 2015.
He arrived in Newcastle before moving to Leeds.
Mr Kealey said: "He simply fell in with the wrong crowd taking drugs and alcohol and these people took advantage of his mental health."
But sentencing, Judge Jameson said "there was no evidence" of Karar's mental health being an issue at the time of Miss Miller's murder.

I'm wondering whether this particular one was given a home by our very own Ian Mohammed. Remember, as Ian loftily informed us, "it's the only moral and humanitarian thing to do"....although Ian went all shy when asked a number of wkward questions about his (phoney) intake.
Thank Allah that the judge wasn't wet behind the ears, seeing through the predictable "mental illness" issue nonsense. That particular national fetish has become normalised to the point where it is now offered routinely as a 'Defence'.

Samiulahaq Akbari, 22, was caught on CCTV walking into the Tesco Extra in Thornton Heath, south London, on January 8.
Akbari tapped a customer on the shoulder and asked for his nationality.
He then took a swing at the victim, Mr Speight, with a ten-inch kitchen knife when he said he was from the UK.

The problem with people like you alun is you are not prepared to accept cultural change which is happening in every town and city.

I honestly don't know,figure has gone up from 26% in 2016 to 34%. 19% are from the EU,the other 15% are mostly from Nigeria,Somalia and Pakistan,in that order.
It's a shame really that the "Progressives" of Britain don't go around to the families of the victims of Karar and Akbari, and "explain" to them why it was imperative that those two gentlemen were allowed to live in Britain and thus have the freedom to murder/attempt to murder their loved ones.
21 years then for the Pretendy Refugee who was so grateful for his Safe European Home that he took to Tesco Extra with a knife, determined to attack the English people who had generously (and foolishly) granted him his freedom here.
Memo to his 'Defence' team : why not try for a gold-plated, taxpayer-funded, fatuous 'Appeal' on fabricated 'Mental Health' grounds. There are any number of daft people in officialdom in tis country who will swallow that garbage, and many others will be too terrified to argue to the contrary on account of your client's special heritage.

Just another FOUR culturally-enriching sorts sentenced to 'Life Imprisonment' ( a phase that long since lost any connection with reality) for their part in the violent machete attacks. And no sign of a 'Mental Health' Appeal or Mitigation in the pipeline either.
Puzzlingly, the Judge referred to these criminal events as 'astonishing". Many will be wondering whether he has been fast asleep this last 30 years, or maybe just reads 'The Guardian' for his information.
