They've a track record over there in the good ole "shoot first ask questions later" US-of-A just up and shooting dogs that aren't on a leads (I've seen shocking videos of them shooting dogs that have come to the door with the owner), and they've shot people before while doing it, and once again they've killed someone while trying to shoot a dog like it's a freaking video game: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7316799/Body-cam-footage-shows-Texas-cop-accidentally-shoot-homeless-woman-30-trying-hit-dog.html what a freakin country.
.. something to ponder that over here we've now a specific law to nail people if they harm a police dog, over there shooting dogs protecting owners seems to be part of the police job descrption.

.. and thinking about it again, over here the person harming a police dog will likely get a stiffer sentence than the spray and pray cop over there blasting off rounds like there was a sell by date killing people for no good reason, never mind dogs.

I read that report. Sadly seems an acceptable practice no matter whether the dogs are a threat or not. No doubt his explanation for the 'accidental' shooting of the woman will be accepted.

On boards.ie we have "AMA: Ask Me Anything Now ye're talking - to a US police officer" (AMA = ask me anything) It is a sickening thread where the fan boys are blowing smoke up him about being a hero. My guess is many of the questions are from our Irish police (Garda). Any questions about - US police shoot first, find out a little about the situation later - are ignored.

Unfortunate accident.. Pit-bull running at you growling like that, I'm gonna shoot it.. Hope the poor woman who died was the owner (should have kept the mutt on a lead)

Another thought just occurred. This is in Texas and this cop has recklessly started firing trying to shoot a "lab mix" dog and killed a homeless woman. It has got next to no coverage. Also in the same state Texas a few days ago so around a similar time, for practical reasons, two cops on horses led a guy down the street with a rope round him to stop him running away. Horses don't have sidecars to put him in the back. HUGE coverage and snowflake outrage.
In the scheme of things, which is obviously the worse thing to have happened, yet which inevitably gets more anger coverage and outrage directed at it in 2019? I suppose if she wasn't white the Guardian might have taken some interest.
