- around 11.35 AM 8th August 1969, the Beatles crossed the road outside Abbey Road Studios, for one of the most famous photographs ever taken.

Lol "clues" that paul was dead and some imposter had taken the place, rubbish of course
Report brassneck • August 7, 2019 11:57 PM BST
i dont think they crossed the road, for one reason ,paul was bare footed, now the sun would create a very hot temperature at 11.35 am and the road would be boiling hot at this time in August 1969,Ringo's suit is black, this would attract the heat making it steaming hot inside the suit, and the cameramans hands would be sweating from the heat of the sun.yet the photo came out crystal clear.LaughLaughLaughLaughLaugh

Read both John Lennon and Ringos biography last year both a real eye opener.
Basically when it comes to Ringo he always felt he was never as close as the other three and there was always unjustified criticism of drumming, brought about by the fact he was never one for drum solos, however in the eyes of other drummers and musicians he was one for the best for keeping time and a rock solid foundation for the rest of the group. Unfortunately George Martin had replaced him on some early Beatles recording in the studio and because he didn't add much musically to the Beatles he would often spend hours on his own in the canteen at Abby Rd.
John lennon well do you start almost blind and it's a miracle he passed his driving test, he is brought up by his aunt Mimi he develops obsessions with first his Mother including sexual fantasy, he then be omes obsessional and controlling with cynthia making her dress like Bridget Bardot before becoming totally obsessed with Yoko Ono and it's definitely him that does the running it that relationship

Heard on TV they were going to call Abbey Road   "Everest". They were going to fly out and take pictures then somebody said nah, lets take the pictures at Abbey Road where they recorded most of their musak. The rest is history.

as an aside the chances of running over a Japanese on a zebra crossing are uninsurable!

Macarony,Ive read its was Yoko who did all the chasing, make a pest of herself, turning up at Johns house when cyn was there, but whatever way round it was,the rest was history.John was so shortsighted, his favourite saying when driving was "point me in the right direction"Scared
Report macarony • August 8, 2019 1:57 PM BST
In the book I read cynthia says much the same however once they are an item its John doing the running the book I read was by Phillip Norman

50th Anniversary editions of the greatest album of all-time announced today also.

Coming out next month and will need a large wallet.
4CD set has two CDs of outtakes, but an interesting blu-ray mix on another CD

And there is a picture disc version being releasedLove
Report alun2005 • August 8, 2019 8:06 PM BST
I'm pretty sure there was a picture disc version of 'Abbey Road' available back in the late 70s, when there was a bit of a craze for them.

I've got a 'Sgt Pepper' picture disc from that time, erm, still unplayed.

Did Michael Jackson once own the Beatles back catalogue?
Report alun2005 • August 9, 2019 11:48 AM BST
Yes, Jackson was flush with cash after 'Thriiler' and snapped it up.  His estate sold his interest onto Sony who I believe are sole owners.

their music is as great as welcome as dog poop on your shoes.

It's a shame the Black Sabbath "Sabotage" cover isn't given the same level of respect.
