what price is boris's one 1000000/1 shot now?
a million to one yet in our post truth world we were apparently told all along this was a possibility
and brexit voters were fully aware of it when they voted....yeah right.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab claimed that he had talked of the possibility of a
no-deal Brexit during the referendum campaign in 2016.

On BBC 5 Live Breakfast, March 2nd 2016, Mr Raab initially said "there would be a free trade agreement".
When pressed on the risk of a WTO Brexit, he repeated that it was unlikely because EU barriers to
trade would "hurt them far more" and added: "That's the worst case scenario - average tariffs of 3.6%."

After days looking through the archives, we have not been able to find any other clear examples of
Mr Raab talking about the possibility of a no-deal exit before the referendum on 23 June 2016.

It is very simple

Corbyn is the Leader of Her Majesty's Opposition

If you want to have a chance to thwart No Deal Brexit first you have to vote No Confidence in Her Majesty's Government then you have 14 days to form a Government. If they cannot do that then we are out of the EU after Halloween and that is BJ's best hope. Idiocy and political posturing by lightweights like Swinson and Corbyn.

The Government formed would be in name only. They should seek an extension from the EU and assuming that is given they should set the date for a General Election and the Country can decide is you in or is you ain't.

Report Whisperingdeath • August 15, 2019 2:29 PM BST
Well they don't have to give any tbh and maybe they are getting fed up

But if they don't extend we have the right to revoke Article 50, which, will not be good.

I think a second referendum is a mistake and the Remain Parties should seek a mandate through a General Election. I am not sure they would win one but if there is a second Referendum and Remain wins the battle is over but the war had just begun.

I am still at a loss by these muppets who think BJ DOESN'T HAVE TO RESIGN! Lunatics!

3. The Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question from the date of entry into force of
the withdrawal agreement or, failing that, two years after the notification referred to in
paragraph 2, unless the European Council, in agreement with the Member State concerned,
unanimously decides to extend this period.

It is quite clear that "this period" can be extended. But this period quite clearly refers to the two years after the notification. "This period" was originally extended until 12th April.

I can't see anything that allows a further extension, it is only the 2 year period that can be extended and, once it has been extended, there is no longer a 2 year period to extend.

I would contend, therefore, that we left at the end of the 12th April.

I think there is a strong swell certainly in Parliament to stop No deal

I would say this too. We are stepping into the unknown and we do not have a clue what to do. If nothing else we need more time to sort this mess out. Today the BJ and Patel have announced an immigration crackdown. I will not argue the merits of it but we have two months to implement it. They cannot get the procedures ready in time.

I understand the Brexiters demand for us to get out and I understand that but it will not be alright on the night. There will be chaos.

I also think this second Referendum is phoney. The argument is in or out but now as it should be it is about what out means and it is this that we have to come to terms with. It is again my view that we shall not be leaving and a General Election may make the impasse in Westminster worse. The proper debate we should have had before the Referendum is taking place now. It is an unholy mess.
