Is that the 12:01 gun?

It can be difficult for women to get a huge gun to fire. Although a uniform normally helps.

Clear confidence in her total inability demonstrated by the nonchalant wander around the muzzle end rather than the breach...

She tugged and tugged but the gun wouldn't fire.  Feel sorry for her boyfriend.

To be fair, WW1 would have had a lot less casualties if women had been doing the artillery.

Spike Milligan was in the artillery in WW1 in africa and italy, his book "Hitler, my part in his downfall" is a good read.

My great-grandfather was in the Royal Field Artillery.  He was a professional soldier.  Also served 8 years in India at the start of the century.

A myth.  Hitler's doctor examined him and made no mention of abnormalities.

Heinz Linge, his valet, was also convinced that Adolf and Eva had a normal sex life.

I know it's a myth but I've never been one to let facts get in the way of a good story.

A normal sex life or a normal german sex life, and if the latter .. did he have a little hole cut to let his mosutache poke through his gimp mask?

Actually now I look Mr Milligan doesn't get to Italy until he gets to book 4 (his books are a series), "Mussolini: His Part in My Downfall".

I remember at one point he mentions one of their artillery crews he was with were wiped out by an accident when firing, risk of the job I suppose. If I remember rightly (maybe I not!) it strangely wasn't their shell that did it, it fell very short from one onto the one next to them.

Or maybe it was counter battery fire from a bunch of German girl scouts.
