I don't know. But I googled Halo the other day and it said it comes from the Greek for a circular area round the hole when threshing corn or something.
I then googled images of Greek Cornhole Thrashing and wished I hadn't. |

I was on a Cunard ship and there was all this Dorothy & Bill bollox, me and Mrs Gravy were asked to leave a lounge area because we were "straight". I thought it was a joke at first as had heard of the D&B thing before, there were some real ugly feckers in that room.
