See lots of foxes when out cycling early morning many look thin to the point where you really notice when you see a healthy looking one both in urban and semi rural areas.

Now that they're a protected species there's probably just too many of them for the available food.

There's one what comes and chills down the end of our garden and happily shares it with the cat.

Careful the cat doesn't get lice,fleas or ticks alot of them are crawling.

Cat won't listen, we have to spray the little buggers to death ourselves.

I was a bit worried about the cat at first, but all seems well. I think because there's plenty of ducks and stuff for the fox to eat on the canal.

Haven't heard of any attacking pets but you would never really know,years ago can remember a fox walking around with 2 deer at a Nature Reserve might be only territorial with their own species.
Hedgehogs are also crawling be wary of them got a flea infestation last year from the dog sitting on the back grass and a hedgehog had been knocking about at the time.

Not all hedgehogs have fleas; many of those rescued have none. However, hedgehogs do not NEED their fleas to survive, that's an old wives tale. Hedgehog fleas are host specific so while they may jump onto a cat or dog, they won't infest them.

Fed the foxes tonight.....bit of Wiltshire Cured sliced Ham that was on the cusp of going off.....fried it up earlier to kill any bacteria....probably un-necessary as they can fight bacteria better than us....saw one cross in front of my car as I parked, looked in good condition ....live near the train line where they have their dens so plenty about.

They add interest to the city.

usually i hear him about this time ratting something in the garden which is my cue to go out there with some cat food  ...but not a peep   

Pesticides, gardens lost to car parking, busy roads. Lots of reasons Coach.

Big problem is gardens fenced off ....always have a hole at one point and try to get neighbours to do the same so they can have a larger food source area.....springwatch had a woman who got her whole street to make holes in their fences.

They are not easy to count but the best estimates we have say that numbers have declined from over 30 million in the 1950s to around 1.5 million now. They are now listed as an endangered species.

the 30 million is a bit of a 50s guestimate  but the numbers have  decreased somewhat ..  it's  worrying  for me as i am supposed to be in a hedgehog hotspot .  It's since they've migrated into towns i think  ..greater dangers   ...but in Scotland they are returning to the countryside  and hopefully in England too soon

This is what Extinction Rebellion are protesting about.....more and more species are declining due to Man's activities....it may already be too late....one saviour may be the next human pandemic .....wiping out 25% of the worldwide population.

I see urban foxes fairly often when I'm walking Muttley in the evening and as BLUE/GREY has said they always look skinny and starving. They hunt for rats by the train station nearby.

Saw a fox chasing a fox who had a large Rat in his mouth, across a car park in Croydon. The Rat was screaming to high heaven. Was an unusual sight.

Plenty of rabbits living near me, lots of traditional food for foxy.
I've also seen deer down by the river bank and in a wooded area near a local golf course.

I've never heard them shagging but I've heard it's very loud and not pleasant to listen to.
I'm a dog lover and they are fairly closely related to dogs, I've no problem with them.

It's SEAGULLS that are the enemy, was just reading a story about some people whose chihuahua was snatched from their back garden by a seagull that flew off with it!!!

I'm tempted to laugh as it's a kind of funny image and I wouldn't personally get that type of dog myself but ... I'm sure they are nice enough and luvved like any other dog is.

Seagulls are a pest. Got to feel for the wee dog`s owners. It`s not the least bit funny so please don`t laugh.

I was watching some seagulls beside some ducks the other day, they all seemed to be getting on then I remembered the story about the pscyopath seagulls that are killing ducks (pigeons?) by drowning and eating them.

They don`t drown them. They nab them out of the water, bang their heads of the road and swallow them. Seagulls are pure B*******. The end of this clip is the best.

Had a pal nearly buy a property there..looked nice and peaceful...not great for pubs though.

Woodside Bar, Craighaar Hotel, Newhills Bowling Club, Bankhead Inn, Staging Post, The Four Mile, Britannia Hotel, plus two hotels opening up at the new exhibition centre.

Doesn't bother me though, I stopped drinking nine years ago.
