This has been widely reported on the news today, and unsurprisingly, the media are putting the blame for this on Brexit.

My first thought was to wonder if it had anything to do with the rise in crime in the Capital. Just a thought.... I obviously  have no idea.

Knife crime etc in London seems to have been widely reported worldwide..... Maybe that's put off people wanting to buy property there. Hence the price fall.

But what do I know?? BBC says it's due to brexit... So that's that then.

Brexit gets the blame for everything.  Similar to the SNP.  When things go wrong in Scotland they blame Westminster.

This sucject is one of my pet hates with our unthinking media. On the one hand they love to see them go up all the time as if it's great, then decry the fact nobody can get on the damned housing ladded as they are extortionately expensive in many areas. It's a complete contradiction. London first time buyer to price ratios are now 10x+. WTF.

London house prices are silly, there shouldn't be a crash but a gradual reallignment to some sense of normality by being stagnant for years would be a great thing.

No different to any number of other lazy causal analysis, the public just suck it up, the need to avoid cognitive dissonance overriding any desire to stop and apply critical thinking to the presented evidence.
