Hi chit chatters, I'm looking for some tips on where to go for a meal whilst in the capitol. Fancy one of the high rise restaurants for one meal out of two lunches and two evening meals. Don't mind spending a few quid but not really into the tasting menu thing. Any tips appreciated, there from Monday to Wednesday.

I would totally recommend "Galvin @ Windows" on the 28th floor of The Park Lane Hilton, it's an absolutely pleasure dining there with the wonderful food and great views. A very solid 10/10 job.

If you like a steak, try Hawksmoor. There's several branches so you should find one that's convenient.

Skylon at the Festival Hall is OK. Decent views over the river. I still enjoy going to Marco Pierre White’s London Steakhouse on the King’s Road where unsurprisingly you’ll be able to get a good steak.

Apologies, just noticed that the OP wanted views. That rules out Marco’s regrettably because it’s on street level and at the wrong end of the King’s Road. Still worth a visit if you want something closer to terra firma.

How much would a steak cost thee in those type of gaffs ?
My guess would be £50 plus .

You’d get a decent steak for around £30.

Thanks all, only looking for one lofty restaurant. Appreciate the replies, any cocktail or swanky bars on the hitlist?

A decent steak for £30 , in one of those pompous posh gaffs .I'm surprised , John .
That seems very reasonable to me,rich man . I of course wouldn't pay that though
because I'm a Johnny poor man from grim up north and I'm not stupid .  I could buy 8
steaks for £30 here and still have enough left over to buy a bag of onions .

I love to cook , do you love to coke, Johnny .
