Think Federer is done with slams, won 2 b2b Aussie's but Novak was not all with it and had elbow injury, highly unlikely he ever makes it back to world number 1 which means at 3 of the 4 slams he will most likely have to go through both Nadal/Djokovic as 3rd seed which is a tall order at his age, at Wimbledon because they seed tournaments differently he could be lucky with Novak/Nadal ending up in the same half of the draw, though as it is this year Federer was unlucky and was in the bottom half with Rafa. I doubt he will bother with the clay season next year and miss the French again, he turned up this year after 2 seasons out and Nadal confirmed what we all knew, he's still miles away from ever getting the better of him there, it's tough on his body and there's little point tiring himsef out for the grass, Wimbledon is his only hope imo and going through both of the other big 2 this year especially given how they're playing seems unlikely. I think he'll stay on 20.
Djokovic/Nadal will probably shuffle the slams between themselves for the next 3-4 years barrring injury, I couldn't call the final between them at Wimbledon if they met this year but on hard courts at US and OZ have to assume Novak will win most if not all, I can see them both ending up on 23 each or thereabouts with Federer left where he is on 20.
I'm just as interested to see who wins Olympic Gold in Tokyo next season, it's something Federer has always wanted, the only thing missing, Djokovic has never won it either.

Here’s a question for everyone - if Djokovic does overtake Federer’s number of major wins, would that automatically make Djokovic the GOAT or would some still argue it’s Federer because of his unique style of play?

I'm not doubting how good the 3 names mentioned are and they are undoubtedly up there with the very best of all but is it really the best generation of tennis to watch when in effect only 3 (4 with Murray at his best) can win as it doesn't really say the game is oustanding to view when the others cannot compete with them. I can remember the days of Borg who seemed invincible (Wimbledon and the French certainly) but there were lots of players who could and did win Grand Slams ... Rosewall; Newcombe; Smith; Connors: Ashe; Mcenroe etc ... that doesn't even include possibly the best player of them all Rocket Rod who would likely have won many more majors if he ddn't play in the divide of Amateur / Professional tennis. I always thought in the 70s / 60s that any of 16 -20 players could in a 2 week spell given their ability and some luck could win a Slam ... its not the case now I'm not being disrespectful because I could watch Fed play all day ... the Aussie final of 2017 was brilliant ... but in all sports it needs to be competitive

I was born in the 80s so can’t remember those older guys. All I’ve really known is the current top three and Murray. I always thought Murray was underrated - 2 Wimbledons and 2 Olympic Singles Golds is an awesome record. Does Federer, Nadal or Djokovic have an Olympic Singles Gold?
