After listening to Space Is Deep

The Intro to Silver Machine perhaps one of the Best intros ever . IMVHO

hawkwind are all about intros. many of them never end, that is the tune

they invented the fade in intro

I played their Roadhawks compilation a couple of weeks ago and then Hall of the Mountain Grill . Worth a listen to again

You Shouldn't Do That - has to be the best fade in intro of all time from any band ever.

i went to see them a couple of years ago in a very small venue, (for those that know Aberdeen it was the Moorings)
i think only Brock was left of the classic line up. a very fun evening & i was one of the younger members of the audience

Us Aberdonians sang "I've got a new pair of sheen(shoes)"...not Silver Machine.

i think they call it Krakatoa now but always the Moorings to me

Ilford Odeon 1978 where have those 40 years gone !

Brighton Centre, December 1979, for me.

I had a Hawkwind sweatshirt at the time - black, with a huge red hawkshead logo on it. When I went away to university, I decided that this was not going to enhance either my credibility or my chances of success with studenty women, so I gave it to my dad to wear in the factory where he worked. (The factory was cold, and sweatshirts were very expensive in those days, so there was no question of just throwing it away.) My dad was about 60 at the time, and being Ukrainian his English was dreadful. He was very happy with the sweatshirt, and wore it nearly every day, but he wanted to know: "Vhy all de young fellas at vork laughin' vhen dey seein' dis shirt? Is summat funny about me vhen I vearin' it?"

That is Hawkwind for sure.
It was one of their more successful cuts, sales wise.

i saw them on that tour and they had a mad crazy stage thing
with multiple tv's all around the stage showing psychedelic stuff.

Saw them a year later, same stage minus the tv's and the big stage show.
it was a tad sad but they were actually better.

Hawklords made spirit of the age a single. it was already on the Hawkwind QS&C album so simple confusion,
where Hawkwind end and Hawklords begin is confusing. Hawklords didn't do much so guess Hawkwind unless
you know better.
