One downside of the sugar tax is virtually all soft drinks now have aritificial sweetners in them which some are allergic to and many think dangerous.

I drink diet drinks myself but I've read articles recently saying they can confuse your system by triggering your body to react as if sugar has come (when it hasn't) but not satisfy it, causing an imbalance in leptin and insulin and even causing you to eat more and even gain weight. I'm wondering if there is something to this as sometimes I get extremely hungry even though I've eaten. I'm going to monitor if this is when I drink my diet "crap" .

Studies have shown people drinking diet drinks can gain more weight than those in control groups.

(I'm talking just common sense here analysis of unexpected results, not some conspiracy sh1t by shady parties out to get us! .. )
