Buying a 1st Class Stamp

Had to buy 6 yesterday, the other 5 will go into a drawer  and then i will buy another 6 in 6 months time.

Their has to be a better way.

Tape them to the front of the drawer so you know where they are.

Post office will sell you a single.  When I worked at Royal Mail we were given 50 1st class stamps every Christmas.

At the start of the decade a book of 12 would have been £4.92. Better off putting your money in stamps than gold or property

When i used to go to post offices the queue was nearly out the door so for a stamp it was silly to join that queue.

Went to whs post office yesterday and it was empty, what has changed so much,at a guess the internet and money transferring apps ?

Print off postage in the comfort of your own home.

Once you start adding regular people to your RMail address book and a bit of practice, it only takes a minute
Easy for items larger than letters too.

You used to be able to stick a tenner in the account and use that as you needed it, but now I think it's things like Paypal or Card .

Should have held on to them. At the rate of price increases you would have been a millionaire in a decade.

bought a load of first class stamps when they were 20 odd pence

still got loads, dont send as many letters these days

shirley the post office will stop this one day, but until then, hey ho...

You can always save stamps that haven't been franked.  Even if it rips as you take it off, as long as you have more than half you're good.

Write any old address on the front.  Then scribble it out.  Write your intended address on the back.  Circle it and write Return to Sender.  Or, where the stamp goes, write Article for the Blind.
