Have a butchers at that

"women stick to the rules" < with a picture of Cameroon not sticking to the rules

"value for money" < WHAT??? they go on to explain you need a fat wallet to go to a mens game, which is easily changed, just stop charging more?, but come on BBC the womens game is laughable that's why its cheap, and you could argue they've made it super cheap because no one is sodding interested unless a quid to get in. which also contradicts their argument for women receiving the same pay as men? because men bring more to the game? people actually fork out for the product? seriously ffs

"more goals" Really? so watching 10-12 more goals = it being better than the mens game? maybe the quality is so poor being the reason for more goals, don't forget they are trying to make the goals smaller CrazyCrazyCrazyLaughLaughLaugh

"men booked for twice as many fouls as women".... oh dear lord I give up

I think they realise they're talking botox when they haven't got a 'Comments' section after an article.

If they had done so with this pile of risible toot, their website would have broken down under the stampede of invective from sussed readers.

I'm enjoying the Womens WC for what it is but this consistent equating with the mens game is pathetic. Marta is now the joint top goalscorer in World cups with Miroslav Klose apparently, thus invalidating Klose's achievemetns in one ill-thought out sentence.

Agree that that is one of the main issues. I'm sure 4 years ago there was a lot of talk about not comparing it to the mens game and consider it as a different sport since it's far less developed. I've done that and watched a fair few games as I'd rather watch sport that some of the rest of the crap on tv. But then the BBC start saying Klose's record has been broken and another bird scored 4 goals in the world cup which Pele, Maradona and Ronaldo haven't done. When they do that the it's perfectly acceptable to point out that most of Messi, Ronaldo and Pele's games in the World Cup weren't against teams that would get pumped off Gala Fairydean.

Or in the BBCs eyes elevating Klose's achievements? he's level with a legend didn't you know

A few good points in that article. Blush
The forgot to mention women players re-tieing their hair numerous times, and men never bother with their appearance.

The reason there are more goals in the women's games is it is uncompetitive.

It's a staggering piece of sexism.

To try to suggest it's better than men's game is both embarrassing and sexist.

Everything the liberals criticise others for, they seem to be guilty of themsleves.

"Are England women better than men?"    SurprisedCrazyLaughLaughLaugh

"In 1990, former England Under-21 international Justin Fashanu was the first professional footballer in Britain to come out as gay.

The ex-Aston Villa midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger, who came out following his retirement in 2014, said there is a "long way to go" before men come out while playing in a top league.

By contrast, the women's game is considered far more inclusive. Ex-England player Casey Stoney spoke out about being gay for the first time just months after Hitzlsperger.
"

So women's game is far more inclusive because a woman came out months after Hitzlsperger and over a decade after Fashanu? Confused

Watch this space - perhaps we'll be singing "three Lionesses on a shirt" and naming train stations after Phil Neville before the summer's over.

Didn't get that far to be honest

And now people are claiming the BBC are on the wind up and fishing Laugh

They've been fishing for a long time, with the same joke? it got boring a long time ago

And its more of a pity towards them now, for a joke to be funny they need to keep their s*** straight

BBC seem to have conveniently forgotten about the 7-0 pounding the Newcastle Jets under-16s (15 year old schoolboys) gave the Australian womens national team (ranked 5th in the world at the time) back in 2016...

If ever the term 'PC gone mad' was not a cliche. Yes, a crying shame there were no comments opened. It would have been comedy gold, as well as the BBC knows.

One of Englands players had to beg glastonbury to put it on a big screen so some of her sisters mates and her could watch it?

I'm not being funny but no one is remotely interested in it on the whole, my mum gets proper sucked in to it all when its the mens world cup, she was asking what time it was on, the pubs were packed and after we beat Columbia on penalties the pubs had music blaring out until about 11 Laugh

Its a totally different atmosphere when its the mens world cup, yet for the womens my mum hasn't mentioned it, no pubs are showing it etc

But you'd think the way the BEEB is going on it was stopping the world ffs, can't see people bunking off work for a womens world cup quarter final Crazy

That tells you something, BBC

ICC world cup is getting a lot more attention ffs, and no one is interested in cricket either, unless its the Ashes and even that has lost its pull in recent years

2005 Ashes will always be peak cricket fever in my lifetime in my opinion

Agree with the complaints about the pay gap. Should just go for equality then when Marta puts 4 past Jordan Pickford she can celebrate by waving an imaginary wad of money at the governing body. And while we're at it let's go for equality in tennis too. Too sexist at the moment - what's with this "new balls please"? Have to put a stop to that straight away. Also should matches be over 3 or 5 sets?
