if that was a man protester he,d would be a hero on tv today, but its a petite woman, so hes a bully etc( wheres the equality} . but then again he mightnt have acted at all if it was man.

Looked like reasonable force to me.

The MP did the right thing. One can't be too careful now 'celebrities' have suggested that acid should be thrown.

Not reasonable force.
Watch the video again. No-one else is the slightest bit fazed by the ISIS suicide bomber in the red evening gown. Even if he panicked and thought she was about to decapitate the Chancellor, it should have been obvious after about 2, maybe 3 seconds that she was harmless and he should have let go. Chances are it was not his first glass of wine, and he's got a short fuse. |

Ramruma is of course absolutely correct.

should be fired immediately no need to have his arms anywhere near the woman's neck.He was completely over the top.

I'm surprised Owen Jones would object to someone being man handled.
By:
i am no Owen i am a Minority Jones fan but that photo shows his hands on the neck that is the only reason i put the link up.
if he had done that to me the prick would be getting a new set of dentures this morning ![]() |

He should of grabbed her somewhere below the throat but not as low as where the Donald grabs.

You sound ''well 'ard'' nellie1970.

We live in very nervy times.
Protesters should be aware of this. What would happen at an extinction rebellion rally or CND or a party conference? Anyone remember that Wolfgang chap, recently deceased I believe, at a lab conference. Arrested under the anti terror laws, wasn’t he? Perhaps Field should have made a citizen’s arrest. |

If someone attacked your children or wife or sister or mum and you did what he did the Police would be down on you like a ton of bricks. I am not saying what he did was wrong. I think it was an instinctive reaction, perhaps an overreaction in the circumstances. I just know down my way the Federales would bust you for what he did. If you said I will smash anybody who hurts my child even in the aftermath of an incident you could get in trouble. What the man did constitutes some sort of assault I believe under law. This is an interesting story and should run for a while. I also if he would have done anything if the other person was a man? |
By:
it looked like reasonable force to me,instinctive reaction ,his hands were above her shoulders ,but not round her throat ,if his hands had
been below her shoulders would of been cries of sexual assault no doubt. |

Absolute dross being talked on the daily politics show.
Novara media chap saying that there is a long history of peaceful protest in this country. Never been any problems when ‘peaceful’ protests happen? |
By:
Nothing can happen to him anyway now its been shown on TV
By:
Rules of engagement are needed for these protests otherwise they put decent people into difficult situations.
By:
violence against protesters is only bad if it is against french patriots complaining about Macron

she doesn't look that "petite" to me? I could see her in an England Rugby jersey with a No3 on her back
By:
She looked capable of giving some back to fieldmouse if she wanted to.
By:
i would have said No1 but didn't want to offend any feminists

I agree with the OP
Although perhaps he was a little heavy handed as he was dealing with a women???? But I think he was right. |
By:
Like Trump said these people can give it but they can't take it
By:
they want equality, treat them the same as if it was a man
By:
It was a climate change protest, equality was not mentioned.
By:
Unless you'd tar all women with the aspirational equality brush?
By:
It's dangerous to assume all women seek equality, I can assure you that some of them want much more.
By:
It has to be remembered the women should not have been there...she cannot complain to much..
I think maybe he could have been a little less heavy handed...but does not deserve punishment imo |
