Two oil tankers have caught fire after being attacked in the Gulf of Oman.
One of them, the Front Altair, was "suspected of being hit by a torpedo", Taiwan's state oil refiner CPC Corp said.
It was "on fire and adrift", according to maritime intelligence firm Dryad Global.
The blaze was caused by an explosion, according to International Tanker Management, which operates the vessel.
The other tanker - Kokuka Courageous - was attacked twice in three hours, the president of Japanese owner Kokuka Sangyo told reporters, and breached above the waterline, igniting a fire in an engine room.
International shipping association BIMCO said the ships may have been damaged by mines.
No country or group has said it was to blame.

To be fair to Trump, I legitimately think he doesn't want to go to war with Iran (or any other country). In his quest to mindlessly dismantle everything Obama, he has however set himself up for Bolton, Pompeo, or actors in the area interested in regime change like Netanyahu, bin Salman to lure the inexperienced man into a violent conflict.

There was strong support among EU countries for an independent UN investigation and calls for more evidence – with the UK relatively isolated in its support the Trump administration’s line.
One foreign minister invoked the spectre of US misuse of intelligence over Iraq as a reason for scepticism, as representatives of the 28 countries arrived at the council meeting.
The ministers will discuss the incident in the Gulf of Oman over lunch, with Sudan, trade policy with Cuba, and the situation in Venezuela also on the main agenda.
Heiko Maas, the German foreign minister, said the EU states “continue to gather information” while Dutch foreign minister Stef Blok said the Netherlands was “interested in any clarifications that can be made available”.
