I was quite surprised and disappointed David Davis didn’t stand.

All Ten could get through the second round too
![]() Be interesting to see how many make the first round. Anyone doing a book? Four or five I think. |
|
By:
i thought bottom of poll was out, as well as those not making 5-10% hurdles
|
|
By:
Donny - according to the BBC
the bottom of the poll rule only cuts in after the second round and then only if they all exceed the 33 (10%) vote threshold. That could easily happen as there could easily be four or five left after the first round and they may all get more than 10%. Gonna be fun. if you like this kind of thing. |
|
By:
Never trust the BBC.
Apologies!!https://researchbriefings.parliament.uk/ResearchBriefing/Summary/SN01366 - This is as close as you can get to the horses mouth and confirms that Donny is perfectly correct. If I know where to look for the facts (eventually), why don't the BBC. |

i still think it will be fun!

What a sorry state the ****ry is in , we Might have Boris , the alt is Jezza.Without the Brexit fiasco ,I think T MAY would have been a decent pm ...
The thought of either of the other two ending up as PM is beyond belief tbh .... I could vote for neither in a general election ..Mind boggling ![]() |
|
By:
Looks like Boris will triumph.
Could have been given a decent run by Gove if he'd kept his mouth shut. |

Mac - Nothing wrong with sellers at Plumpton
My retirement race in 2005 was a seller at Plumpton. |

Andrea Leadsom's got her red lines and Michael Gove's got his white lines.

By:
Its a pity about Gove
I was hoping he would get in and legalise cocaine, or if not cocaine some of the softer drugs...oh well |
|
By:
^ pretty much this.
if any of them expressed a desire to engage in some reform of drug laws, it would have actually been good. still unsure why there hasn't even been something of a notable attempt to legalise weed here from either side. could come up with reasons for left and right to support it |

By:
Apologies blackbarn, I did Plumpton and your good self a disservice indeed. Not many people get a race run in their honour. More importantly, did you bet the winner?
![]() |
|
By:
Yes I agree aaronh
The problem with our governments is they don't think they are doing a good job unless they make us suffer in one way or another THEY JUST DON'T WANT US BEING TOO HAPPY ![]() |
|
By:
Mac - No!!!. Most of us backed the fourth!. The winner was 25/1 and was trained by the permit-holding daughter of a golfing mate of one of the party. The "reliable" info on this was that it had no chance. The second horse was also 25/1 and the exacta paid just over £500. Good old Plumpton
. My only vaguely redeeming act was that I picked the winner as best turned out ffs![]() and still didnt back it. Lovely day though! |
|
By:
That is tough luck blackbarn. Main thing is that you had a great day! I actually buy a Plumpton racing diary each year, lol.
|
|
By:
Dont be silly mac. PM me next season and I'll send you mine! Plummers is great - You should come down, I could put you up in the Barn, but we have sexier accommodation next door - a cosy Shepherd's Hut with Shower and Woodburner. We'll even make you breakfast!!
|
|
By:
That`s a very gracious offer blackbarn and very much appreciated. If only circumstances were different, that would have been great thanks! All the best to you and your dad and family!

Bozo sails through 1st round. The media snipes will not be happy; & Beth Rigby stoops lower than Quasi with thoracic stenosis. But all in all the Bozo train still on track; & just in case anyone still thinks he's an "idiot" - change the record
Rumpole opening proceedings is also a massive boost within the Party |
|
By:
It's quite a fine line but there is a distinction between a common garden idiot (with no education) and a (very expensively) educated idiot. Boris clearly the latter.
