I was quite surprised and disappointed David Davis didn’t stand.

All Ten could get through the second round tooCool

Be interesting to see how many make the first round.  Anyone doing a book?    Four or five I think.
Report donny osmond June 10, 2019 8:25 PM BST
i thought bottom of poll was out, as well as those not making 5-10% hurdles
Report blackbarn June 10, 2019 8:43 PM BST
Donny - according to the BBCCrazy the bottom of the poll rule only cuts in after the second round and then only if they all exceed the 33 (10%) vote threshold. That could easily happen as there could easily be four or five left after the first round and they may all get more than 10%. Gonna be fun. if you like this kind of thing.
Report blackbarn June 10, 2019 8:48 PM BST
Never trust the BBC.  Blush   Apologies!!

https://researchbriefings.parliament.uk/ResearchBriefing/Summary/SN01366 - This is as close as you can get to the horses mouth and confirms that Donny is perfectly correct.

If I know where to look for the facts (eventually), why don't the BBC.

The thought of either of the other two ending up as PM is beyond belief tbh ....  I could vote for neither in a general election  ..Mind boggling Sad

Its a pity about Gove

I was hoping he would get in and legalise cocaine, or if not cocaine

some of the softer drugs...oh well
Report aaronh June 11, 2019 12:56 PM BST
^ pretty much this.

if any of them expressed a desire to engage in some reform of drug laws, it would have actually been good.

still unsure why there hasn't even been something of a notable attempt to legalise weed here from either side. could come up with reasons for left and right to support it
Report themightymac June 11, 2019 3:51 PM BST
Apologies blackbarn, I did Plumpton and your good self a disservice indeed. Not many people get a race run in their honour. More importantly, did you bet the winner? Excited
Report UBLE/REGY June 11, 2019 9:46 PM BST
Yes I agree aaronh

The problem with our governments is they don't think they are doing a good job unless they make us suffer in one way

THEY JUST DON'T WANT US BEING TOO HAPPYSad
Report blackbarn June 11, 2019 10:16 PM BST
Mac - No!!!.  Most of us backed the fourth!. The winner was 25/1 and was trained by the permit-holding daughter of a golfing mate of one of the party. The "reliable" info on this was that it had no chance. The second horse was also 25/1 and the exacta paid just over £500.  Good old PlumptonCool. My only vaguely redeeming act was that I picked the winner as best turned out ffsAngryAngry and still didnt back it.   Lovely day though!
Report themightymac June 11, 2019 10:27 PM BST
That is tough luck blackbarn. Main thing is that you had a great day! I actually buy a Plumpton racing diary each year, lol.
Report blackbarn June 11, 2019 10:34 PM BST
Dont be silly mac.  PM me next season and I'll send you mine!  Plummers is great - You should come down, I could put you up in the Barn, but we have sexier accommodation next door - a cosy Shepherd's Hut with Shower and Woodburner. We'll even make you breakfast!!
Report themightymac June 11, 2019 10:51 PM BST
That`s a very gracious offer blackbarn and very much appreciated. If only circumstances were different, that would have been great thanks! All the best to you and your dad and family!

Bozo sails through 1st round. The media snipes will not be happy; & Beth Rigby stoops lower than Quasi with thoracic stenosis.  But all in all the Bozo train still on track; & just in case anyone still thinks he's an "idiot" - change the record
Rumpole opening proceedings is also a massive boost within the Party
Report The Management June 12, 2019 2:41 PM BST
It's quite a fine line but there is a distinction between a common garden idiot (with no education) and a (very expensively) educated idiot. Boris clearly the latter.

Report Dr Crippen June 12, 2019 4:19 PM BST
I think he has, because the other half of his act backed off earlier after I'd poked him in the ribs.
Report Baphornet June 12, 2019 4:27 PM BST
i think da management needs mouse to explain the difference between"nuance" & "nounce" Then again, trying to explain anything to a goldfish may well fall on deaf fins

maybe nursery school hasn't got around to big words like nounce yet?
Report mouse muldoon June 12, 2019 4:31 PM BST
Nounce is almost synonymous with nous, as I expected. Probably a regional thing.
Report Baphornet June 12, 2019 4:32 PM BST
and nuance?
Report mouse muldoon June 12, 2019 4:34 PM BST
Describes degrees of nebulosity.

It's been fascinating talking to you.
Report SlippyBlue June 12, 2019 4:53 PM BST
Note to Blackbarn, I go to Plumpton each year more than any other racecourse in the country. My brother has got a share of a horse with Suzy Smith who trains nearby. I absolutely love that track Happy

Report Baphornet June 12, 2019 5:18 PM BST
da management seems to have a very thin skin, unless he's dishing it out. If you think what i have said is insults & name calling; you really must still be in nursery

aaronh: he did what he had to do; & very successfully yet still gets called an idiot by some. He answered 5 questions &  leg glanced another to long leg. Just because you or the media don't like his answers is immaterial. He cares not one jot about anything at the moment except the part faithful, & will bat away anything that can get the media frothing. 8 days left & a flat wicket; why go for a hoik over the bowlers head?
Report mouse muldoon June 12, 2019 5:23 PM BST

Or kicked the can, to use his own expression from the very same speech.

Report Baphornet June 12, 2019 5:38 PM BST
Laugh good grief i don't even know how to respond to that! Embarrassingly bad as it was. If i wanted the admiration of a goldfish i'd address a fairground bowl
Report Baphornet June 12, 2019 5:50 PM BST
tantrum - "a violent demonstration of rage or frustration; a sudden burst of ill temper"

talking common sense & rationality seems to have a different meaning to the uneducated. Maybe snipers & dummies should just slink around those they can bully or bait. You're way out of your league. Come back when you can debate properly or at least put up a decent showing, as this is decidedly one-sided & boring.
Report The Management June 12, 2019 6:00 PM BST
