The local Labour MP is backing the protests.....
The MP for a primary school facing protests over LGBT teaching has been reported to the chief whip after telling campaigners "you're right". In a video circulated on social media, Birmingham Hall Green MP Roger Godsiff told the Anderton Park Primary School protesters they had a "just cause". Mr Godsiff previously said the equality lessons were not "age appropriate". In the video, Mr Godsiff, who is seen with Shakeel Afsar, the lead organiser of the protests, said: "If I had the opportunity of rolling the clock back I would do exactly the same thing again. "Because I think you have a just cause and I regret the fact that it hasn't been reciprocated by the head teacher." He asked demonstrators to "consider calling the protest off" as he said they had made their point, but added it would be their choice to do so. He then said: "I will continue to try and fight your corner because you're right. "Nothing more, nothing less. You're right." Wes Streeting, Labour MP for Ilford North, said he would be tabling a formal complaint to the party about Mr Godsiff. In a series of tweets, he said: "This made me feel sick to my stomach. "One of my own Labour colleagues stood with people who have peddled hatred and bigotry on school gates, intimidating pupils, teachers and parents." At its annual general meeting, the LGBT Labour group voted to condemn "unreservedly and unequivocally" the remarks and called for the Labour whip to be removed. The city council's deputy leader Brigid Jones also tweeted: "How dare you tell men whose homophobic protests were so threatening and disruptive that they had a court injunction issued against them that they are 'right'. "You do not speak for me." A petition calling on the constituency Labour Party to deselect Mr Godsiff following his latest comments has 1,000 signatures. |

It really is quite a connundrum. No idea how this pans out. I have sympathy with the parents not wanting their kids to get this stuff fed to them so young. These are very private and sensitive matters.
The Head Teacher led the Gay Pride rally in Brum which I think was antagonistic. It's the gay activism which adds to peoples' concerns. |

The left are split and true to norm don't want to raise their heads over the parapet. They will run a million minds in the other direction than god forbid be seen to be critical in any way. Spineless and very selective in their protesting.

wow this seems like a pretty vocal counterprotest strategy It's the gay activism which adds to peoples' concerns. and it adds to peoples concerns because of people like you conflating things. you did approve of S.28 after all none of you pay attention to what the "left" is saying other than what ever the youtube or twitter outrage merchants say so even if there was more vocal counter protest you'd never know |

People on the so called right of politics have warned of this situation for years. That includes the excellent and also gay, journalist Douglas Murray. He predicted years ago that Islam will clash with gays across the western world and things will turn nasty. Noone listened! When will Progressives realise the first people to suffer as Islam spreads is...er, themselves!!!!! |

Why other minority groups not protesting about the same issue? Why is it always the same minority group kicking-off? Are they more educated, superior and intelligent than the others? Or are they merely being less tolerant. insecure and demanding?
I'm getting progressively sick and tired of hearing their "grievances" of this country. They are not even getting the support of other minority groups. Maybe, just maybe they ought to look into the mirror and ask a more immediate pressing question about the grooming of young white vulnerable females by their male relatives, sons, brothers, cousins, uncles and grandpas. Until then do not throw stones whilst living in glass houses. |

This is a really difficult subject as in and ideal world you would think secondary school is the right time to educate children on sex and all its troubles.
But some girls mature before 10 and boys before 12, its not an exact science but i have difficulty with schools teaching kids from 6 about this, they have only just left the sandpit. |

I'm sure pupils of that very young age will only be taught the very basic and superficial aspect of LGBT; the teachers will no doubt follow closely the guidelines laid out by the Education Authority, and no more.
