I rarely use London buses but when I do there often seems to be a nutter on board. Usually a harmless nutter but a nutter, nonetheless.
My advice is don't go on the upper deck and never travel on a night bus. |

Arrests Made , Strange no Pics prior to the Arrests as stated CCTV would Imagine would have been released of the Attackers rather than the Victims , Very strange .

Appalling story of Modern London.
I was following this awful story for most of Friday, until arrests were announced on Friday evening. Despite all the hundreds of words published on this matter during Friday, accompanied by photos of the victims, there was incredibly no description of the attackers beyond one of them said to have been speaking in Spanish. Nor was any CCTV pictures released to the public to help aid identification of the thugs. London Buses are said to have CCTV installed on them. Don't the authorities want the thugs to be caught? Fingers crossed they have the right people in custody. Then public needs to be protected against thugs who carry out unprovoked attacks like this. I can't wait to see what "The Defence" will offer. |

Just saw this on the news, dreadful attack by theses scumbags, forced these young ladies to kiss one another whilst they, the attackers, simulated sexual gestures before beating them up.

Spanish -- kids learn it at school these days; it has replaced German as the second foreign language taught after French. Probably not a clue to nationality: more likely one of the kids was flexing his A-level muscles after hearing the women speaking Spanish.
CCTV -- probably not released as the police recognised one or more of the attackers, or the bus driver knew them as regulars so it was just a case of waiting till they got on the bus again. Come to think of it, the fact there was a week between the assaults and arrests supports the bus regulars theory. It is not as if they'd need CCTV to jog witnesses' memories -- hard to miss a fight on a bus. No, I took it as an encouraging sign that they'd not released the video. Hold on, it was a bus. They'd not even need the driver to know them. In London, you cannot pay fares in cash. They were too young for contactless credit or debit cards, so they'd have used Oyster cards. The bus's card reader would have told them which cards were used. VERDICT OF THE COURT: pished-up kids on a night out during half term; regrettable; out of character; glowing reference from headmaster of posh school; 30 days for the punch-thrower; suspended sentences for the others. Which is all very well as far as it goes but its deterrent effect will be zero. |

I'll no doubt get shot down for airing my opinion here, but I just find it an uncomfortable experience to watch, such as just now "A Place In The Sun" with yet another couple! I might have been ok, but the sight of them holding hands, had me zapping them pronto! Hope you feel ashamad of yourself Lady Faye! |

the more gentrified, expensive London becomes and the more people are left behind the worse it will become
not saying its right but if the mega rich think people will sit back and fall farther and farther behind without consquences their deluding themselves why people who can afford to live in London want to pay for the privilege of them and their family not been able to walk after dark,use public transport, pubs etc is a mystery only the can answer the mega rich are putting themselves into a position where they,ll be living in gated area,s phoning up just eat,eventually some will sit there thinking whats the point been well off in a city/country like this |

I have to agree. If this was a man and a women being attacked by scumbags, this would not have got this wide scale media attention. It only got so because they were gay and we are in an environment where gay culture has to be seen as nothing but positive and this gives the media the opportunity to do this. At the same time I hope the perpetrators are imprisoned. Everyone should be able to travel peacefully on public transport.

As everything heads towards driverless vehicles (driverless bus trials already under way in the UK), I wonder how that will affect security, you can only imagine it'll be a lot worse. With no staff on board will they need security at nights? With no driver the bottom will hardly be better than the top currently is, in fact you'd imagine it'll be worse.
Maybe need to add little tazer firing turrets to the CCTV cameras  |
