China v Germany ....hard fought game....third watching with tennis and racing

the mrs knows one of the scottish players but sadly she hasnt made the squad.
the bbc program about the scots lasses and their qualifying campagn is a good watch.
some very refreshing interviews and attitudes from the players and manager.

Its doing so well in the viewing stakes they've had to go out and get some male legends of the game to talk about it

You have to laugh at these people, but admire their cheek a little as well
if women can comment on mens game then shirley men can comment
on ladies game.
problem is , of course, ladies game isnt at same level as mens. and i guess
men will not be expected to point this out too often.
i saw some of spain v south africa, first half, and was quite impressed
by the football being played, ...but...it broke down way too often , some
of the midfielders seemed to think they had mbappe, or bolt up front,
whereas the defenders seemed to have better pace than the strikers
quite odd to see.

I watch it sometimes, because I know they won't be rolling around like girls when tackled, and wont be harassing the ref and holding the game up every few minutes.
Do you reckon all that running around makes them a bit farty?

I saw the first half and thought there was some terrible lack of control, from professional athletes. Just because they are women does not excuse them of not being able to trap a bag of cement!
There were some good skilful players on view too to be fair
Goals remain too big. Women golfers play off advanced tees at club level, boundaries are brought in for cricket.. Why not make the goals smaller in football? The keepers are hopelessly small.

some impressive skill on show tbf and i would say these women would beat most if not all mens teams who play at a lower level ,fitness and skill would win the day ...but they would stand no chance from level 10 onwards on the pyrmadid .

No doubt the standard has improved over recent years and if the crowds start increasing sponsorship will bring more money into the game. I'm for supporting any England team that has worked as hard as this lot to be competitive on the world stage. Hopefully it will encourage young people to get off their phones and exercise a little more.

Hopefully womens football will get popular.. sky will outbid everyone else and have exclusive rights, and then the BBC will never mention it again.

Can't see Rapinoe getting much joy against Lucy Bronze and if the back four are Bronze, Houghton, Bright, Stokes, the USA are in for a tough night.
