Watched the documemtary about Tiananmen Sqare last night was quite an eye opener. Always recall watching her in various war zones, conflicts etc, but that was quite incredible. Would you put your life on the line for your job, a fella to her left fell shot dead, the chap to her right fell dead but she had this incredible determination to get her film/story out to the world as she knew the chinese would deny it. Had to climb over the outer wall of her hotel as they had locked the gates and force her way past police and army guards to get into her room to get her film copied. Did 8 copies and gave them to different people to get out of the country with. They headed for the 1st Aeroplane they could get on, no matter where it was going, and of the 8 copies only i got through to Japan, which is the film we all saw at the time, oh forgot as the 2 men were shot beside her a bullet grazed her arm. Always admired her but even more so now.
There was many a crisis in the 80's and 90's. Many people worried about seeing the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse but my crew were never unduly worried. Don't worry we would say. It is not the end of the World. Kate Adie is not there yet!

Just trying to understand what happened to the other seven people...
You said that "they" all went on the first plane they could get on! Was this the plane to Japan?
