Change UK has lost six of its 11 MPs following a disappointing performance in last month's EU elections, when it failed to get a single MEP elected.
The party announced that a new party leader, Anna Soubry, had been elected.
She said she was "deeply disappointed" that Heidi Allen, Chuka Umunna, Sarah Wollaston, Angela Smith, Luciana Berger and Gavin Shuker had left.
The departing MPs said they would be "returning to supporting each other as an independent grouping of MPs".
Never thought of them as deserters. Still will go places now Soubry is in charge. The scrapheap is my bet.

he didn't even make leader of this shambles. I'd say his career is pretty much over in Politics
Anna Soubry ridiculed by Nick Ferrari on the radio this morning.
Saw Soubry interviewed yesterday. She's got that Ed Miliband habit of when asked something, doesn't just reply directly, always pads it out with "I just have to say to you that .. " etc .. then ignores the question. ,,
Her constituents have obviously told her to say with change uk. Everything she does is through hearing what they say.
