I despise Facebook. Millions of people inadvertently giving up all their personal information without even realising the objective of the company involved.
Mightymac , I agree with you about personal info . I don't use my real name there , or age , etc . I would advise others to do the same .

Facebook is one of the best resources of information out there. You just need to be smart enough to use it to your advantage.
As for the disadvantages, those are a part of today's life. People have got tracking devices on them. Something as simple as the weather app records your latitude and longitude at all times and stores it at the parent company, google in most cases. You can imagine what the rest of the apps can do. People don't bother about privacy anymore. Privacy probably doens't exist anymore. Facebook gets all the hatred because it makes the most money out of it.

Facebook is great - I located my girlfriend from 28 years ago last year - to wish her happy 50th birthday - and we've kept in touch since then. I'm hoping one day to have her back - at the moment it's a bit tricky cos she has a partner of 17 years called Sam - that's Sam for Samantha - but I'm still hoping and wishing and dreaming ..... and if it happens it's all because of Facebook
