Organ?
Report Baphornet May 30, 2019 12:11 PM BST
the problem was always Hammond living next door to the nutcase. One removed & very soon the other will be;  with his political career in shreds
Report Mr Eboue May 30, 2019 12:15 PM BST
A fine chancellor who has done very well. Certainly better than the unemployed idiots off the Betfair forum could have done.
Report Hanx May 30, 2019 12:22 PM BST
Off to the inevitable lucrative City contract when he gets de-selected or loses his seat at the next GE

.....either that or Editorship of The Guardian

Mr Eboue

I would argue some of the unemployed are better at spotting what needs to be done because they observe it all from outside the bubble, people who are "educated" and in highly paid jobs are either to close to it to see what's happening, to entrenched "in the game" or they have agendas to keep the status quo

Blokes like Hammond can't even see what increasing the national minimum wage is doing CrazyCrazy increasing it means companies will have to charge more for their goods, meaning people end up paying more for said goods

Simple economics that "economist" should understand?

Sad
Report donny osmond May 30, 2019 1:30 PM BST
getting minimum wage up will take billions of pounds of subsidies from the taxpayer to the
users of these zero hours minimum wage employers.

they may pay more for the goods, but will have more in their pockets to facilitate that.

the losers will be the exploiters

He reminds me of someone but I can't place who. I could imagine him playing a stuffy British officer in a remake of the Great Escape.

here's a clue - "That's the way to do it"

Hammond is an oduis creature like most of the spivs but he has the balls to stand up to the far right maniacs like boris , raab  etc , if any of these nutters were to be become PM i think he would vote against them in a no confidence vote
Report anxious May 30, 2019 2:18 PM BST
Whatever happens you can see the carnage of Brexit is not going to have an happy ending for either Labour or the Tories
Report anxious May 30, 2019 2:20 PM BST
He does remind me of somebody in the British Occupation of India , a kind of of character from it aint half hot mum
Report Hanx May 30, 2019 2:59 PM BST
He reminds me of Jools Holland

Looks like him. Despite years in the media spotlight still comes across as thoroughly uncomfortable when a camera is in front of him and above all, has done sweet FA to deserve his enhanced public persona.
Report Baphornet May 30, 2019 3:20 PM BST
he has the persona of Ebenezer Scrooge, the face of Punch, & of course, nods like a dog in the back of a Vauxhall Viva. A thoroughly unpleasant & obnoxious no mark
Report Foinavon May 30, 2019 4:30 PM BST
Establishment lapdog. In any normal government, he would be sacked for his comments. Will be glad to see the back of him.
Report Baphornet May 30, 2019 4:38 PM BST
agreed; won't be long now. This Cabinet has got away with absolute bedlam in the last months. I never ever want to see any of them in Government again. I hope they all lose their seats; including that 'chief brexiteer'Laugh Loathsome, who has backed up the nutcase to the hilt, only to resign when the farm was sold. Another despicable creature
Report Foinavon May 30, 2019 4:45 PM BST
Divert the Thames through the chamber and swill them away making doubly sure of the vile pixie in the high chair. We might then have the chance of a fresh start with a chamber that respects democracy.
Report Baphornet May 30, 2019 4:48 PM BST
if only. It wouldn't surprise if the media laid on a yacht to rescue them all. They too have played their part (and still are) in the countrys demise

Word to describe Hammond? Ok I'll try...

T R A I T O R
Report Baphornet May 30, 2019 6:16 PM BST
the media have proclaimed words like that are not allowed; well not unless you want to stay in the EU that is
Report Just Checking May 30, 2019 8:41 PM BST
I've had a look and maybe he reminds me of the actor "James Donald" who seems to have played British officers (including in the great escape!).

He needs to present the budget in a WW2 RAF uniform before I can be sure.
