Marmites "you either love it or you hate it" slogans must be the most referenced phrases ever used from tv adverts, I'd imagine whoever came up with that in the marketing department was promoted up several levels through the company, specsavers "you should of gone to specsavers" is also another very successful one, kit kat's "have a break have a kit kat" is still used all these years later and Ronseals "does exactly what it says on the tin" also going strong.

always thought kfc's "finger lickin' good" was terrible even though they still persist with it, have you ever heard anyone actually say finger licking good?

Slightly off-topic, but some brands have become synonymous with the product.

Eg

I think Ronseal and Gold Blend would compete with Carlsberg TM. Both saw huge increases in sales after their respective campaigns.

What was the other one ''A pint and half of milk in a block of chocolate?''

A heard a woman on the telly say she gave her kids as much chocolate as they can eat, to ensure they get enough milk on the strength of that advertisement.

And that's true.

"For mash get Smash".

"I'm a secret lemonade drinker, R Whites, R Whites. I'm trying to give it up but it's one of those nights, R Whites lemonade."

The dinosaurs on here will no doubt remember those two.

I always thought that Barbara Windsor should have kept some pet birds in at least one Carry On film, just so Sid James ask her whether she used Trill.

"Why's that, Sid?"
"'Cos your budgies are bouncing with health ..."
"Oo, Sidney!"

'The goodness is in the thickness'...said by a Scottish lady in the floor cleaner advert. I think it was Flash?
Anyway, most women would agree with the sentiment maybe for other reasons? Mischief

If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit, join our club.

Honey nut loops!  We're loopy together.

Both of these are perhaps memorable only unto me but I recall them from pre-1993 (I know from where I was living) so they did the job of being memorable.

Ho ho ho Greeeen Giant. -  Sweetcorn I believe.

You know when you've been tangoed - I recall this advert being banned.  It involved someone being slapped with a hand on each cheek, the kids copied it and some recipients got damaged hearing as a result.  My brother used to do it to me with wet hands and I hated it.
