The ongoing Inquest into the atrocity has heard that back in 2016, this particular Islamist Terrorist's job was to keep London Underground stations secure against, erm, Islamic Terrorism.
Who would have thought that employing someone who followed this particular religion might just be at odds with his security brief? But let me guess, had his application been rejected, that would have constituted WAAAAAYYYYYYYCISM, or some imagined Hate Crime.
Naturally the terrorist passed whatever security vetting he had been subjected to. It's possible of course that those in charge of security may have been unaware that there is this thing where terrorists and traitors "tell lies" to gain positions of responsibility.
I'd love to know how sophisticated these vetting procedures are. I'd like to think that they are a bit more probing than "Question 1 : Are you Supporter of Daesh/ISIS/Islamic Terrorism?". No, oh that's good, you're in.
The terrorist had even made their vetting jobs a bit easier by appearing in a Channel 4 documentary a few months earlier. The documentary, helpfully entitled "The Jihadis Next Door" showed the terrorist praying in front of the Daesh flag.
YES, THIS REALLY HAPPENED.
How many more have infiltrated into positions of security, and policy making on Defence, Justice, and general Anti-Terror activity?

You're probably right though, if people merely being "watched" were prevented going jobs and not convicted of anything, the Snowflake pressure groups would complain it was a breach of his human rights, nailed on.

The funny thing is that the London Bridge atrocity had sod all to do with working for TfL. It is not as if he sabotaged the brakes or even got his mates free bus rides.
It is as if these terrorists' warped minds are totally compartmentalised. They can be conscientious employees, caring family men, and in a different context mass murderers.
It might be significant that these terrorists (and others of their kind) travel to commit their atrocities. They ran people over and stabbed them -- they could have done all this at their nearest shopping centre, or anywhere locally. Instead they go to some other place, that they can think about and plan entirely separately from their day to day lives.
Right, how can I convert this complete guesswork into a lucrative research grant at Oxford? I've always fancied a go in a punt.
