I feel that i have been cheated out of 2 hours of my life watching this tripe, have absolutely no idea what this was about and i think that numbness overcame me preventing me from turning this rubbish off, assumed the story would get going eventually but it never did, 5 stars my newspaper gave this! What really amazed me was the list of credits after the film, must have gone on for 10 mins. Anyone else watch this or was i the only one sucked in?

What was the other one Acey? One of the worst films i ever paid to see at the cinema was called something about "On the edge" of something, only went to watch it as was advertised with Pink Floyd soundtrack it was wretched, try to find out proper title now.

Think it may have been The Valley(Obscured by clouds).

I made the mistake of watching it a few weeks ago.

A dreadful film, badly made. Dark (as most films are these days, to hide some of the CGI), flawed, slow.... very slow, irritating.

Most films recently are not good.

I was hoping you'd come up with summat good to watch.

I watched McMafia last week.  Most people on here prolly seen it already, but I never got round to watching it when it was first on the BBC.  I thought it was very good.  It's now showing on repeat on Alibi.

Good characters, a good plot and generally realistic unlike most of these types of programmes that have ridiculous fantasy plots.

Not a regular filum goer myself last one i went to see was Gravity(only because the wife wanted to see it)
before that it was Gladiator(slowly working my way through the G's)
But the wife does watch films and says these days you can't make out a word for the mumbling and everything
seems to be shot at night.

I'm glad others cannot understand dialogue these days, I thought I was going deaf.

I actually paid to see this in the cinema.  It was much lauded at the time.

Garbage.

Gravity - there's another one...

I used to like Sci-Fi. Another overrated, slow, poor storyline film

As you say, wit-ham, dialogue is awful, sometimes I put the subtitles on in a bid to decipher the mumbling.

I love sci-fi and especially alien invasion stuff, but never bothered with this as from the trailer it looked pretentious bollox. The fact people ''raved'' about it is usually a bad sign too

I went to see Arrival a few years ago based on reviews (it got good reviews at the time) and thought it was utter carap. I`d say a lot of reviewers nowadays are beholden to the big corporations. There`s a particular reviewer that I listen to (only because I`m a fan of a radio show she turns up on) and I`ve learned at my cost that anything she`s positive about is rubbish and her negative reviews are usually decent. Resurrect Barry Norman I say. It all went downhill after he retired.
