Brilliant idea! They should film it in 2D so we can see things how he would have seen them.
Report jumper3 May 26, 2019 5:11 PM BST
A biographical film in the vein of Vietnam or the US Civil War TV series but this time for the Spanish Civil War or the Boer War.

Dr Crippen (the forum one).

Jack Johnson the boxer. Stallone supposedly going to make one

Anthony Ashley Cooper, the 7th Earl of Shaftesbury....

Before during and after his life..Eros (The Angel of Christain Charity) in Piccadilly Circus is dedicated to him.

'One of his biographers, Georgina Battiscombe, has claimed that "No man has in fact ever done more to lessen the extent of human misery or to add to the sum total of human happiness".

- wiki. Wow, just wow...

Percy Woodland. If ever a guy qualified for a film of their life, then it`s our Percy.
Report Johnny_Mustang May 26, 2019 7:15 PM BST
Keith Richards. You only have to read his biography ‘Life” to know it would make an utterly sublime movie.
Report kincsem May 26, 2019 7:50 PM BST
Lester Piggott.
Report SlippyBlue May 26, 2019 8:01 PM BST
My choice is somewhat related to kincem's choice, I would pay good money to see a film biography of a hero of mine who is Sir Henry Cecil.

alex ferguson, lots of books out there

the bobby robson film is great, but sadly he never saw it

tiger woods would be good, but he aint finnished yet, is he!
Report darren_discombobulates_sports May 26, 2019 9:28 PM BST
Noel Gallagher would be good, from council estates to job centre to Dry cleaning/Bakery shop/yard labouring work to rodying to International superstar through pure hard work, lived life to the full and always great for a quote.
Report Hank Hill May 26, 2019 9:50 PM BST
All sorts from the Victorian era would be fascinating. Cecil Rhodes, Rudyard Kipling, Arthur Conan Doyle.
Report Hank Hill May 26, 2019 10:17 PM BST
Baden-Powell or Kitchener would be good too.

It's mad that there hasn't been a life story film made about the legend that was Eric Brown. His life story is amazing "boys own stuff", why he wasn't more famous I'll never know, if he'd have been american they'd have made a blockbuster for sure.

There would be more "snowflake triggers" from that lineup than a glock factory in winter with the roof off:)

Or those great chums AllCock & Brown.
Report Aspro May 27, 2019 9:40 AM BST
Some interesting selections here, however; to be a true blockbuster-type movie it would have to appeal to the Americans too. My own choice (Nelson) has probably been kicked into touch after 'Master and Commander'
Report Aspro May 27, 2019 9:43 AM BST

Think a film of Alan Sugars life would be interesting, his rise from Barrow Boy to international tycoon and TV personality also his time as Spurs chairman and his battles with managers.

David Elsworth.

I'd cast a CGI Walter Matthau as Elzie, with Liam Neeson playing Bill Turner in the fight scenes.
Report SlippyBlue May 28, 2019 4:26 PM BST
That's a good one screaming from beneaththewaves, I would most definitely watch that.
My choice of Sir Henry Cecil the perfect actor for that would be the absolutely brilliant Michael Sheen.

Aspro, Just looking at them on Wiki and there is more recent stuff I didn't know about e.g. Buckingham and McVie solo tour.

And, most recently Buckingham leaving and Neil Finn joining -  WTF.

Sadly, once a classic line-up is lost then usually the whole band is lost. I had a major crush on Stevie Nicks back in the day Love

Re the OP apparently they WERE going to make just such a film about Nelson, but it seems to have sunk without trace? It was announced in 2013 with the title "love and glory".

Not Checking  is the worst of the lot so forget whatever the know nothing says, lots on the internet, best to check it out yourself. I"m a big fan and thought it was rubbish but the more I looked into it,the more I realized this guy wasn't the original. There is an American guy on youtube who tells the full story and how William Sheppard managed to fill Pauls place and get away with it with the help of the other Beatles. Pointless me tryiny to explain, people have to watch.

Shame... hopefully it will come up again soon.

It's a little known fact that in the time of Nelson, the Royal Navy was mostly crews of Hobbits. At least that's the conclusion I came to when walking around like quasimodo inside HMS Victory and STILL banging my head every 10 freaking seconds!
