His name just came to me . It just shows you what the brain remembers

I wish he had fought in the battle of Hastings and I might have passed my eleven plus exam

They should give historical men names like that so children  can remember them when they need to

Of Al the dates in the world before. 1066 was a good year to have a battle because everyone can remember it

More people know the date of that battle . better than the date of their wedding

I don't know what the battle was about but. I know what year it was

I bet if you asked people where I live what they know about the battle of Hastings I would bet  you most would know what date it happened .but would not know who won it

One min he was there on top of the world.  The next minuite  someone told me in my pub that the klue Klux clan hung him for getting too big for his boots

The lad who told me that though .could not be trusted he once told me Blackpool tower was being taken apart and resited in Morecambe

I remember seeing him sing at Fagin's in Manchester .and I thought to myself what am I doing doing here listening to him
Report Do wah Diddy May 25, 2019 11:33 PM BST
It wasn't cheap to see him as well . I must have got a free ticket .because i wouldn't have paid  to see him

I know I remember being in Fagin's kitchen but I don't remember why.. I wasn't employed by them

I never seemed drunk when I went to Fagin's I don't know if the beer was watered down or wether it was the bouncers not  letting me walk around they made me sit down . I could tell better if I was drunk if I walked about better, than sitting on a chair

I saw the drifters there with my then girlfriend . And I once took a girl there to impress her to see p j proby but he never turned up and she wasn't impressed .she said her mam said she had to be in for 11 o clock .it was just an excuse she didn't see me again .I'm not getting the last bus home with anyone when the bar was still open in them days it would have saved me alot of mental pain if I had ..
but you try telling a drunk what to do when he's got money in his pocket and the bars still open

Diddy, I've heard it said that Manchester had the best nightlife in Europe in the late 60s. Must have been fantastic times.

One of those  coincidences.
I am reading John Peel's Olivetti Tales  book.
Yesterday the chapter I read was on going to see Lovelace Watkins in concert.
