- and the equally financial draining Scotland can have their Independence, too ...

- whilst the highly insular Welsh can go away and sing their self-satisfying songs to themselves, at the same time.

Out of Europe - Out of the 'Union' .... JOB DONE.

Still on that old yarn.
The IMP, European Central Bank,  European Commission lent 67.5 billion Euro to Ireland.
The UK lent GBP 3.2 billion.
Saying that the UK bailed out Ireland in their hour of need is stretching the imagination.

The Guardian
"Much of this is politics and spin. Despite Europhobic complaints that Britain is paying to rescue the despised euro single currency,
Britain, in fact, will be helping Ireland in order to help itself.  British banks' lending to Ireland, at €149bn, is the highest in the EU.
An Irish collapse would hammer British banks. The two neighbouring economies are utterly intertwined, not least because of Northern Ireland,
and British trade with and exports to Ireland are huge."

Where is the 85bn euros coming from?

The money will come from:
The Irish Republic itself will contribute 17.5bn euros to the overall fund from its cash reserves and, controversially, the National Pension Reserve Fund
22.5bn euros from the International Monetary Fund (IMF)
A similar amount from the European Union's European Finance Stability Mechanism
17.5bn from the European Financial Stability Facility, which is funded by eurozone governments
bilateral loans from the UK, Sweden and Denmark.

Just on the above post wasn't a major cause of the crash due to a British bank (possibly RBS?) changing and being ultra competitive with mortgages?(As were America etc),the others followed suit and the rest is history.

One of the most common mistakes people make when talking about geography in this country is to confuse the UK with Great Britain or the British Isles – a cardinal sin in the eyes of any true geographer!

So let’s clear this up once and for all…

The United Kingdom

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (to give its full name) refers to the political union between England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The UK is a sovereign state, but the nations that make it up are also countries in their own right.

From 1801 to 1922 the UK also included all of Ireland.

The Channel Islands and Isle of Man are not part of the UK, but are Crown Dependencies.

Great Britain

Great Britain is the official collective name of of England, Scotland and Wales and their associated islands. It does not include Northern Ireland and therefore should never be used interchangeably with ‘UK’ – something you see all too often.

Here at Ordnance Survey, we’re responsible for mapping Great Britain, which is why we don’t make maps of Northern Ireland.

British Isles

This is purely a geographical term – it refers to the islands of Great Britain and Ireland – including the Republic of Ireland – and the 5000 or so smaller islands scattered around our coasts. Remember this only refers to geography, not nationality, and while the Republic of Ireland is part of the British Isles, its people are not British – a very important distinction.

I hope that’s explained the very different meanings between UK, Great Britain and British Isles and why it’s important to use the right name at the right time. Geography really does matter!

We could go on to talk about nationalities but maybe we’ll save that for another day…

With the treasonous Welsh and Scottish people delivering a remain vote it is becoming increasingly obvious that English nationalism must rise and get rid of the quislings, the leeches, the enemies of the real people that surround the nation.

Maybe so, aka, but

Brexit Party + Ukip + Conservatives = 271,404 + 54,587 + 27,566 = 353,557

Plaid Cymru + Lib Dems + Green + Change UK = 163,928 + 113,885 + 52,660 + 24,332 = 354,805

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-politics-48417474

Then you have Labour, which was always ambiguous, but I'd say more leaning remain, or at least very close relation to the EU. I don't think the real people seeking a clean break hard #nodealnoproblem Brexit would've voted for them in the EU elections

In conclusion: a traitorous quisling remain vote that overall seeks to sabotage the real clean break Brexit that the real people are seeking. -> Wales needs to be thrown out of the Union.
Report edy May 29, 2019 7:57 AM BST
In fact, the top Welsh Labour candidates have all voiced full support for a second referendum ahead of the election.
Report akabula May 29, 2019 11:27 PM BST
Other than those that voted for the Brexit Party nobody voted in these elections purely on a leave or remain ticket.
So you can massage the figures all you want Edy but this was a strong message that the people of the UK want O.U.T. OUT.

Report edy May 30, 2019 4:52 AM BST
Sorry for 32% of the Welsh. Read: So only 32% of the Welsh people that chose to vote think strongly about Brexit? With a turnout of about 37% that's only like 12% of the electorate I think.

Sad times.
Report akabula May 30, 2019 5:55 AM BST
Missing the point Edy, no doubt your intent though.
The Brexit Party was the only party to stand on a one ticket policy.
Report edy May 30, 2019 5:59 AM BST
Am I really missing the point or are you ignoring it? Why did only 12% of the electorate feel like voting for the Brexit party if the Welsh wanted to send a strong message that the people of the UK want O.U.T OUT?
Report edy May 30, 2019 6:00 AM BST
*or rather: that the people of Wales want O.U.T OUT?
Report edy May 30, 2019 6:01 AM BST
Aren't we to assume from this that the others don't feel all that strongly about Brexit and desperately wanting O.U.T. OUT? Or are Brexiteers just slackers that couldn't be arsed to get off their arses to send a strong message?
Report akabula May 30, 2019 6:06 AM BST
I'll let you rabbit your nonsense to yourself Edy I'm off out to enjoy the fresh air.
Report edy May 30, 2019 6:11 AM BST
Is it really nonsense, mate? If I was a really convinced Brexiteer, super peefed off with the Tories, wanted to send a strong message to them that they should get on with delivering #NoDealNoProblem already...I'd hella make sure, no excuses whatsoever, none, nada, zilch, to get to the voting booth. With that in mind, 12% of the electorate is kinda pathetic actually.
