They should be made clear to the patients and their family.

If the diagnoses is incorrect no problem, doctors make wrong diagnosis everyday.

If the doctor can't hear what someone is saying, then he should to make a judgement on the other evidence available.

It was her daughters tonsils, if he started examining down below for tonsils, he would definitely have been struck off mouse!


This is grossly unfair, the doctor cannot treat anyone unless he can hear the person.
Also she took it off when asked, she did not object

It is more difficult communicating with someone when we cannot see their face

There are things like their facial expression, our eyes pick this up.

Without this it can make listening much harder.

I waited behind a women in a queue at my Doctors reception once.

The women in front of me was completely covered from head to foot including her face.

I thought there could be anyone in there, woman, man or even a Dalek.

Then she went upstairs, so that ruled out the Dalek.

It's the doctor's own fault.
He should know the lie of the land by now and act accordingly.

Ten years training to become a doctor and he falls for that.

For goodness sake, this is the UK, so please abide by the tradition out of courtesy. There is always an alternative eg go private, and choose the health professional.

Driving with a veil will seriously compromise peripheral vision though nobody's yet had the balls/career suicide to bring that up.

Fortunately the levels of control doled out by the average muslim male limits driving opportunities for females I believe.

Credit to the husband he was kind enough to send his daughter in with the mother and not take her in himself. This is already a positive step. You should also be proud that he brought his daughter to the doctor in the first place. What a nice man. Sounds like a well integrated gentleman to me.

The police service inspector has commented there are "communities from other cultures who would prefer to police themselves" which the police are never called to, though he doesn't specify whether these are Muslim.

The excellent doctor has completed 22 years of unblemished service, and his ability has never been questioned. He has served the community skilfully, regardless of their gender, sexual preference, race or faith.

Alas these admirable qualities were no protection for him whatsoever against the sensitivities of the Religion of Peace.

The doctor's words should be heeded closely. He states “This is why you are waiting so long to see your GP and doctors are leaving in droves. This country will have no doctors left if we continue to treat them in this manner. I’m deeply upset.”

There's a reasonably straightforward solution to this sort of outrageous scandal. It should be enshrined in law that if you want NHS treatment in the UK, all your cultural, religious and gender sensitivities have to be left outside the building. You are on NHS property to receive appropriate MEDICAL treatment, and NOTHING else.

That principle should also apply across the public services, whether it's the NHS, Driving Tests, Border Control points, Prisons, Police Station Cells points, everywhere.

Strangely, for a newspaper which is a cheerleader for the NHS, I cannot find any detailed coverage of this scandal in The Guardian. They may well have a story on it, but I was unable to uncover it during a website search using the doctor's name.

Does anyone know what has happened for the whole year since this incident happened? He was only told he was under investigation last week. Yet the incident happened last June. He also claims he's been having trouble securing a job since the incident. So was he fired immediately after the complain? What are they investigating now and how come he's out of work if the investigation hasn't taken place last year?

I was toying with the idea that patients should only be seen by doctors from their own culture/community .
Then I realised that waiting times for the caucasian population would probably result in thousands passing away before seeing a doctor .....................

I’m not sure how valuable petitions like this are, but it is encouraging to learn that close to 60,000 people are outraged enough by this scandal to have signed it.

The public, in particular those who claim to support the NHS, would do well to heed this doctor’s astute remarks :

“I’m a little bit sad the country has been committed to depths such as this”.

That’s something I’m sure we ALL agree with.

What this does serve to show is the influence these people now have within all levels of society.

Not too many years ago the medical authorities would have simply brushed this incident aside without giving it a second though.
Now way would any action have been taken against the doctor - not even a mention of it.

Now look at the state we're in, I don't even see the doctor's own union taking his side.

The GMC has probably been infiltrated to an extent that there are insufficient numbers of normal members to support him
