The success of the programme was always in its edginess, there was certainly no edge in the last episode.

It was a shame George RR did not finish his books. Once the producers ran out of source material you started to see the sort of characterization and plotting you get in Soaps and superhero movies

in the penultimate episode i had to check that i hadn't missed the previous one as it took such a leap.
in the final episode i thought i had dozed off and missed half an hour. it felt like they had put so much effort & money into the big set pieces of the battle of the dead & destruction of kings landing they hadn't had the time or the budget to work on the rest of it properly, those little things like script, story & proper editing. |

Really fell off a cliff at the end. Shame, but hopefully future shows learn.
Number one lesson is to avoid bringing anything remotely sentimental from behind the camera to in front of it. All this fan service and director cameos and actors having a big final scene before their wrap speech and they had to have a final goodbye hug scene because they’ve been working together for 8 years and that hug you saw was real yeah? No, get over yourselves and finish the job like a professional. |

Unbelievable that the same studio responsible for some absolutely unforgettable episodes could come up with that tosh at the end.

'fan service' was definitely a big factor.

I'm not an aficionado, but surprised that they didn't offer the facilty for fans to text their vote for their own favourite ending.

Last season was more rushed than that time I got off with a page 3 girl.

Not a patch on Ted 2.

I've never seen a single episode.
Am I missing out, or should I leave well alone ? |

For me, its one of those things that make me cringe. GoT, Lord of the Rings, Manchester Utd, American football, Star Wars, reality tv etc etc. Fkin hate all of them and don't even know why.

I've still watched a few seasons though. Only watched the dwarf's scenes mostly and hardly had a clue where the story was. There's a woman that **** out dragons but keeps begging people to be allies with her.

Like terminator. Sent from the future but needs to have a pic and ask around for the person he's supposed to kill.

Couldn't wait in their pursuit of the money. Totally bastardized it.

Dunno about that bigmo. They waited 2 years to come up with these 6 episodes as there was no series last year. Found GOT a brilliant programme, but it didn't get the final series it deserved. Cramming far too much in for my liking. Think they would have been far better off putting them in 2 series, 1 last and 1 this to give it the detail it deserved. Shame.

*1 last year and 1 this

HGS. I'm talking about waiting for George RR Martin to finish his books.

Ah apologies bigmo. Indeed. If later episodes were derived from other, I fully agree, though I thought he had a big input?

Final series has been a huge disappointment. The story arcs have been abandoned....why?
Have to say though most of it has been great TV and ground breaking TV. It has set the standard and will be hard to match. Real shame about the last series though although some of the production was truly amazing and awesome at times. The technical stuff was very impressive. |
