Interestingly Grant, as you go up the scale into very fine wines, the mark-up in Restaurants is mostly lower in percentage terms than in the mid price range and lower. The current market price for 2001 Le Pin is about £3k a bottle - you'll struggle to buy a single bottle though; that is the price for a case of 12 and there were only 500 cases of this vintage. So a 50% mark up is quite "reasonable", if anything at that price can be so described.
