The problem is they do not reflect reality do they? they are deliberately made into car crash spectacles and if you pummell enough of them into people's living rooms their own mental health is bound to suffer, just like depressing soap operas such as Eastenders. A love Island contestant (no never watched it either) killed himself last year after the show, new series apparently starts soon, where there's money to be made these production companies wont give them up without a fight.
Would like to think that everyone knows reality tv is scripted to an extent now. What these shows need to do better is vet their candidates better on a psychological basis and also have a duty of care afterwards when it comes to the post-show fame
